You know, I'm not one to make a big deal about things. If we are at a restaurant for a birthday, we never say anything - that kind of thing. But, when I mentioned to my DH about our anniversary the other day, he forgot it was coming up - and it's our 15th!!

I had to change a dinner ressie today, so I told the REALLY nice CM. He made a notation on one of our dinner ressies and then asked me if I put it on our resort ressie.....so I did add it to our ressie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If something happens, it happens. If not, it'll be what I'm used to - nothing!!! :guilty:
It would be nice though..................

That is great!!! We are also celebrating our 15th at WDW!!!!

We got married on 9/9/90 and honeymooned at the Swan.....or was it the Dolphin :confused3 It is so sad that I can't remember. I do remember that it was brand new and only open a few months.

We are going back with our three kids (12,8,5) and can't wait to share the MAGIC!!

I totally understand not to expect anything special but I also had our anniv. added to our ressie. They even asked what night we wanted to "celebrate"? I haven't said anything to my DH but if something should happen I would act very surprised!! :cheer2:

Congrats on 15years and here's to another 15

We just got back from the CR (last night!!). My TA with DU (Beth) noted it was our 20th wedding anniversary and we were surprised with a ballon bouqet and an autographed picture from Mickey and Minnie noting our anniversary from the resort (CR). It was delievered one day that we happened to be in the room between parks! I was very surprised. Also at Liberty Tree Tavern they noted our anniversary with a table centerpiece and announced it in the lobby when our name was called.

Very Surprised!! It was great!

Your 15th anniversary sounds like a really great time to plan something to celebrate. You have so many options at WDW and they don't all cost tons of money. For $25.00 you can have a really special cake delivered to you! Have you seen the threads on those cakes?! WOW! We are planning one of those for our next trip! I have seen so many great ideas here on the DIS for how to make those occasions even more special. Who knows, maybe your dh will get the hint, and plan something on his own for you next year!

I don't know, it's just been my experience that WDW does "more" for you when they know you care enough to plan something special too. :)
If you get a freebie, that's great too! But if it's important to you (and 15 years IS special!) plan something on your own to make your day extra magical. :)

We will be there this December forour anniversary~ I wasn't sure if they did anything special! This is great! I have been there before for my birthday (2x) and they were great about it then... this is wonderful! Really makes your stay then extra special!

FOr our DD's birthday in April we were upgraded from GV to lagoon(Castle) view at the GF and Cinderella sent an autographed birthday card and a chocolate bar on the birthday day.

We celebarted our 18th wedding anniversary in 2002 at WDW.

We had a reservation for a North Wing at CR.

Not sure if it was b/c the Militray were in the North Wing (Shades of Green was getting rehabbed) - or b/c it was our 18th anniversary - but we wre bumped to a Tower room - street side, convention hall below us, but could see MK and the monorail if you looked straight across the balcony.

It was a magical surprise.
I had ordered flowers from the WDW florist for us.
The CR gave us a anniversary certificate.

The room bump up was a great gift from the CR (and a great rate - paid our wing rate)

See what the WDW resort does for you :)

Happy 15th !

I think I will do a search and look for one of those cakes. Thanks for the idea!! :sunny:

I think you can get them from the Grand Floridian bakery :sunny:

My Dh surprised me with a cake from the GF bakery on our 5th anniversary. That was something he arranged prior to our arrival. However, when we arrived in our room at the GF, we were surprised with balloons and an autographed picture of Jasmine and Aladdin. We were not expecting that! princess:

On our 15th Anniversary, we stayed at the Poly, and had it notated on our reservation. We received a rose, a ballon, and basket full of snacks. We ate at CRT on the night of our anniversary and had it notated on the PS. We received a set of champagne glasses etched with the CRT logo.

Wow, we are celebrating our 15th Anniversary this month at WDW too!
Married August 25th and we are checking in on the 26th - the exact same date as our honeymoon. However, we are booked at the All Star Sports and taking our kids too! Not that we haven't been regulars to WDW since then, just every year but we couldn't pass up the Free Dining special.
We spent our week long honeymoon at what used to be called the "Club suite Villas" which are no longer and Saratoga Springs has replaced. Way back then, we went to both the Poly Luau and the Hoope Dee Doo and we are planning to take our kids this year for their first time - it will be fun to see if it's much different as I can still recall the cast singing about the Honeymooners from the great white north!
I also added a note to our reservation that it is our 15th anniversary - but the note was restricted to 29 characters... so I squeezed it in hoping that they will take note as it always is such a nice surprise if they do. Do you think I should email/call in addition to this? If so, who and where can I get more details on getting the cake etc.?
Thanks!

Definately do not expect anything. We stayed GF concierge and nothing happened for our anniversary stay.

Our TA told Disney we were celebrating our 6 yr anniversary. We stayed at Polynesian Concierge. Our 2nd night we walked into our room to a bottle of champagne chilling on ice next to a postcard like Mickey & Minnie chocolate with a long stem rose and card. It was very very nice and unexpected! Also at most places we dined the waiter brought out some kind of special treat acknowledging our anniversary.

We'll be there for our 5 year anniversary on September 9th (MNMom--Happy Anniversary to you that day!! BTW...I'm also from MN...funny). I made dinner ressies on the 8th (our first night) & they asked if our trip to the World was a special occasion and I said we'll be there for our anniversary and I think she made a note of it. Then I booked our real anniversary dinner and she also asked me about our anniversary again...LASTLY, it is our tradtion to re-order our cake topper every year so I wasn't sure what I would do...but found out on the DIS boards that the GF Bakery will do not only a special cake, but if you have a photo will replicate it as best they can!! So I'm surprising DH w/our cake at Narcoossee's!!

So I'm not sure if our TA mentioned anything to Disney about our anniversary, would be nice to get balloons or something but at least we'll still get our cake topper!! :0)

My DH and I will be celebrating our 25th anniversary at WDW in February. :lovestruc We are arriving on the 25th of Feb, my birthday is the 26th and our anniversary is the 27th! My TA, who made the reservation, knows about our anniversay but I don't know if she told WDW when she made our reservation. I think I will call her and ask her if she mentionend it. I am surprising DH with a Richard Petty Driving Experience on our anniversary day. He has done it twice before at the Rookie level but I am getting him the next level up and I know he will be thrilled!! I'm not expecting anything special from WDW but it would be a nice surprise. I just can't wait to be there and spend a week with DH to do whatever we want whenever we want!

Technically, our trip in January is our anniversary gift to each other...but our anniversary is in June. We weren't able to celebrate our first anniversary when it came up a couple months ago because hubby was out of work and finances were beyond tight...so this trip is our celebration instead.

I didn't mention that when making the reservation because I think I'd feel a little quilty if they did something special for us and it wasn't our actual anniversary.

Maybe we'll plan another trip for another anniversary...on the actual date.
