Just to let you know about the DIS teens.

I think some of you have kids on the DIS. I won't bore with details but there is a pretty interesting thread that went from the DCL Board to the Debate Board.

IMO, some of the teens were being bashed unnecessarily and I spoke my piece. I got some very nice pms from some wonderful young adults thanking me for standing up for them when all I did was state the truth.

To their parents. You have done a GREAT job.

<font face="Comic Sans MS"><font color=#006400>I have to agree with you. Not only are they nice. They're very intelligent, and can be quite eloquent here on the boards.

I love talking to teens - with their enthusiasm and passion, they can accomplish so much - and have. :)

I always enjoy the teens around here. My DS joined the Teen Board at the end of the summer but unfortunetly just can't keep up with school work and DISing (like Mom can!!;) )

Your so right Eeyore! A great group of young adults here.

:) That's good news as I listen to my downstairs neighbor's 14 year old son as he plays his "headbanging devil music" as my BF calls it

I so agree. They handled themselves so well in that debate and presented their point of view and what it's like to be a teen in this day. Having spent time with teens as a mentor, friend and youth group leader I know how wonderful and special teens are. Sure it's a tough age, but there is so much more than that.

Thanks DIS teens for having the confidence to speak your minds with adults. And thank you DIS parents for instilling that confidence in them. You may not be able to protect them from the world, but you can sure give them the skills to navigate it.

thank you all so much! :)

Some people...i dunno what's up with them

(and I've noticed ever since I've had time to come back on the boards I use the phrase Some People... at least once a day...lol :p)

Always enjoy the DIS youngsters. After having met a good number of them, I am always impressed by them all.

I always enjoy hearing a teen's point of view. Maybe that is the mom and the teacher in me? I have found DIS teens to be very respectful and caring. I, for one, am glad that they are around.

I stay far away from the Debate Board, so I know nothing about this thread that started the discussion, but I would lean in support of our teens.

I didn't PM you, Eeyore (joined the thread too late...missed my chance to be flamed...) but THANK YOU for standing up for us, and for this wonderful post. :) I will pass your comments along to my parents (Non-DISers...:( )

Thanks! :)
The only reason I keep coming back to these boards is because of people like you.

Another vote for how great our DIS teens are! They are proof that our world will be passed on to a very competent group that will take good care of it. In fact, they will probably take better care of it than we have and will learn from our mistakes.

I would have to agree with you E! I've been following the debate board thread....with lots of Excedrin....and have been quite impressed with the posts by the DIS younger set. They all seem well-spoken with good heads on their shoulders. Except for the one "newbie" who said he was going to put all Common Ground bashers in an old folks home...that was plain rude.

I agree too!
The teens here are usually more mature than some of us adults at times. ;)

I love this sentiment. I need to keep this in mind while raising my babies.

Thanks for the thread. I keep avoiding the one on the debate board. I am glad there are intelligent teens who can speak up for themselves.

:)

I've never ventured into the Teen Board, but after reading these posts, I just might. And I might even try and recruit my own teen and turn her into a DISer. They sound like a great group of kids to hang out with online.:D

Two thumbs up for the DIS Teens. I think some of the people here tend to forget what it was like to be a teenager :teeth:
