Just to add more confusion to all the PIN code discussion

Please adhere to DIS board guidelines. Posting any offer that is reported to be a PIN offer, regardless of whether or not you have been able to use it without a PIN is AGAINST DIS POSTING GUIDELINES.

These posts will be removed, and if they continue the Webmasters will again go to the "no codes posted" rules that used to be in place.

The webmasters have generously allowed for codes to be posted that are public codes (FL resident, AP, AAA, general public) let's not ruin that by continuing to post codes that are not intended for everyone to use.

Yes, some CMs may book a reservation for guests with a code that requires a PIN and not apply the PIN, but that can have repercussions for that CM or for the guest possibly.

If there is ANY INDICATION on these boards that a code that has been listed was a PIN offer and not a general public code PLEASE DO NOT CONTINUE TO TRY TO POST IT HERE.

Trekker - maybe this is an opportunity (much needed it seems) to do a little educating for people such as myself (aka newbies :thumbsup2 )...

If I called CRO to ask if I was eligible for any discounts (without giving any code like "xxx" or whatever), and gave them my name and dates, and they came back and said "yes, you are eligible for discount xxx".....would this code be considered a pin code? A public code? How do we know?

TIA for the clarification.

I believe this could be some of the confusion at Disney....it appears that the ZFC code may have been used on a previous offer that was the free hopping upgrade.

this is still valid:

Booking Dates: 1/11/07 – 2/18/07
Travel Dates: 4/15/07 – 6/02/07 (requires 3 night minimum length of stay)
Blockout Dates: None

I am having a moral delimma myself about it. Maybe it's a good thing Hubby said we aren't going anyway. Yet I still have them on hold (a 1 night and a package following it). People kept saying for days after the first person did that they just got their email/post card that day. And people said they called one day and told no pin the next day told yes pin. So I called again and Didnt ask for the pin but asked if I was elligable for the 40% code I'm hearing about for my December trip. I specifically asked if I was eligable but didnt use the words pin or postcard or anything. I was told yes and they booked it...not as wow of a deal as some of the deluxes are (effectively giving smaller free dining by the time it saves you 100 or more a night) but doubled my aaa discount anyway...saving me another 200ish. But if i wasnt supposed to be elligable .... but I did ask ... ugh....

Ok I called CRO today and did not bring up the code initially...I simply asked if I possibly had a code attached to my name. After some searching, the CM said there was no pin for my household. Then she said "but there is a promotion that you can use that is not associated with a pin"...she proceeded to tell me the code that is in question with this thread. I explained to her that there were a bunch of us confused on this code so if I could speak with a supervisor just to be sure about the no pin attachment thing, that would be great. She was fine with that...a couple of minutes later a supervisor comes on and he tells me the same thing. I didn't book because I have to talk to DH tonight. So now we have one person here who spoke with a Disney supervisor that says it IS attached to a pin, and I spoke with a supervisor that said it is NOT attached to the pin. So who is right? Looks like no one will know for sure until Disney makes some announcement regarding any possible promotion revoking. We can speculate, but seems as though we're all getting different answers. Reminds me of this last MNSSHP when several of us were getting all kinds of different answers from supervisors regarding the party. Extremely frustrating.

Just to be on the safe side, I edited out the code from my post. I guess time will tell which supervisor was giving the correct information.

Beth, I am right there with you.
I called last night, asked if I could use the code mentioned. She said yes you can. So I did. Now was I meant to have it or not? Do I keep it? If I wasn't, than of course no. I want to go back very badly, but not enough for me to feel like I stole something for it. (This is just my feelings, I am NOT saying anyone is.) So I have a call into Guest Relations, waiting for them to call back. If this is a special, you were supposed to be personally offered it, I will post back and let everyone know.

Personally I am not sure that a moral dilemma is warranted. Many have reported that they were up front and honest with the CM and were told it was a general code....this is Disney's error. Whether it is the result of a glitch in the system or misinformed cm's...its their error. If Disney is giving you a quote that you are booking, you didn't trick them. I, and others, have said it is a pin code....you don't know me from Adam. While I am certain my information is correct and my numerous sources reliable, I am not saying whether I would book this deal or not...nor do I judge those who have.

Lillygator...I am referring to CM's who are telling people that it is a general offer when it is definitely not.

Why go to all that trouble? If Disney doesn't want you to have it, they will call you and revoke the offer. :confused3 If you called and she said you could use the code, well then you are not being dishonest at all. I personally would just wait and see how it plays out.

True. I just have a total control issue. :rotfl: Also can't stand not knowing.

One wonders too if it even was an error...

The postcards weren't they for room onlys?
This is a different separate code that is for packages...isn't it (or from the way people have reported the cm's are when they call in for their 40% room only from their postcard).

Maybe this is one of the YOAMD things an unadvertised word of mouth special. and dis is going to be storming disney world lol lol lol we have the biggest mouths around lol lol lol

I can understand that. But it seems like calling GR would just put your name in the spotlight if they decide to revoke the code. And you got it fair and square! I'd just lay low and keep your fingers crossed that the CRO rep was correct!

Just called and mentioned the code giong around here. I was told I could not use it as it was only for specific guests, plus it's only for packages, not room only.

I always thought pin codes/postcards were for room only discounts. I've never received a pin that was for a package deal. The thread that specifically talks about the 40% discount from those who actually got the email/postcard pins are saying that it was room only. And pins are never only 3 letters. Even more confusion....

Utter chaos!

I called and asked about a discount code for a trip in May. We're currently booked for 5/18 for 4 nights (FW Cabin) - $2385 (7 day tickets for 5). I asked if I rebooked it for 5/28 for 5 nights (FW Cabin & 7 day tickets for 5) what would the price be with a discount. She asked if I knew the 3 digit code - I told her I found it on the internet and gave it to her. She punched it in and stated that it was for the target weeks promotion and quoted me $2060. She didn't ask if I had a pin or anything. I told her I looked up on the internet disney discount codes and this is the code letters I found.

4 days - $2385 (7 day tickets for 5 - FW Cabin) without code
5 days - $2060 (7 day tickets for 5 - FW Cabin) with code

So for approximately 300 less I could go 10 days later and stay an additional night - great deal for us. But...

I did not book it because I know for sure when my hubby is off. When he comes home tonight I will ask him to take a different week off to get the discount.

I then called back to see what the rate would be during the fall weeks. Told a different reservationist the same thing. She looked it up and stated I needed to know my pin number. My current pin number is not valid for the dates in the fall.

So my question now, do I have a pin number for the dates in May that aren't valid for December or not? I don't know.

This particular batch of codes has been very frustrating in the conflicting information we are getting from Disney when we call to check on it.

As a guideline for the future if you find a code listed at http://www.wdwinfo.com/discounts.html you can feel confident that this is a code meant for the general public.

As it appears the

Magic Your Way Package - ZEY
Magic Your Way Package + Dining - ZFC are........

If the situation you described above happens and you do not see the code on the aforementioned pages please consider it to not be a code for the general public and do not post it on the boards.

The post card advertised the room only because if they mention package it gets confusing because people think the 40% is off dining/tickets as well. The code mentioned was the code they use if they can "upsell" you to a package. Of course if you call about the postcard and request the dining/tickets they will also use that same code.

:thumbsup2 My husband and I have been saying the exact same thing since first hearing about the 40% code last week.....the discounts seemed so good that we thought "HAS to be a part of the YOAMD!"

Who knows....

However if this was the case and the 2 were linked people calling with the package code wanting room only would be linked back to the room only code. This is only happening to people asking for packages but having no code or a room only pin.
