Just to clarify on MY "daydream" (and everyone is welcome to dream up their own version!)

:
1) No changes to current
DVC studios (unrealistic - even for a dream!!)
2) New improved studios idea is for a future DVC resort to be built.
3) Improved studio will retain Studio status - mot a separate category.
4) Dedicated 2 bedroom will have 2 queen beds in the 2nd bedroom - just 'cause I like it! Better for guests and kids, imo.
5) Since all lock off studios (besides OKW) already all have a bed and sleeper, I will assume all future studios in new DVC developments will retain this type of layout.
6) The only "real" change between the current studios and the future improved ones will be the substitution of a king bed instead of the current queen and a slightly larger unit to accomodate the larger bed.
7) The same size sleeper sofa will be furnished in the new studios as the old ones.
8) ALL newly built LOCK OFF studios will have the king/sleeper configuration. No separate option for king/sleeper OR queen/sleeper (current configuration.) As others pointed out, it would be wat too complicated to juggle the different types of units. So, ONE type of studio for the NEW DVC resort.
9)O'kay - throw in the real dishware in the studio idea too!! Although, I would anticipate more labors cost for mousekeepers. Since there aren't any dishwashers in the studio, housekeeping will need to either wash dishware by hand (between guests) or have to send dirty dishes down to the kitchen and bring clean ones up. And people complain about seeing trays of dirty dishes in the hallways now!!
10) Yes, the point cost per night will probably be higher. But I anticipate that DVC will raise the points costs per night for new DVC resort developments anyways! So, it would be nice to get some improvements at the same time.
11) I would use more points per night for a studio if the new DVC resort was located on the monorail - i.e. the Contemporary.
12) I would not if it was at Eagles Pine (I would get a 1 bedroom at OKW instead.)
13) Even in my own "daydream," I concede that it will probably never happen because, bottom line,... where's the money in it for Disney!!
Would anyone spend more points per night for a monorail DVC studio if the unit layout was the same as BWV/BCV/VWL/SSR?
Would you spend more points per night for a monorail DVC studio IF the unit was SLIGHTLY bigger and had a king/sleeper as opposed to a queen/sleeper?
Please remember that Contemporary hotel rooms are huge and sleep 5 comfortably. Also, I think that Disney is adding complimentary fridges to their hotel rooms?
