I am going to preface this with saying that this is my first attempt at anything like this. I love reading all the reports on here (though I cant read vettechicks- I get jealous of all that drinking since us pregnant ladies cant have any!), so I thought I would give it a try. Hopefully, you will enjoy!
The Cast:
Me: 23, aka- Andrea. 7 months pregnant, obsessive planner, excited to be back to Disney after over 10 years
DH: 24, aka- Chris. Dental Student, in Orlando as we speak for a research conference, not so sure about this whole Disney thing, but hey, if the pregnant wife wants to go, dang-it, well go!
DS: 0 (due June 1!), aka- Evan. Still has the best seat in the house- i.e.- moms tummy. Likes to kick mom in the ribs at inappropriate times.
DDogs: 4, aka- Daisy and Deiter. Long Haired Miniature Dachshunds. Would love to come with, but instead will stay home and guard the house. Because they are big. Big and scary. See??
Where to begin . I have been trying for years, since DH and were dating, to get him to go to Disney World with me. Being that he has not been there in awhile, he has failed to see how this could be a fun trip for adults. I *try* to explain to him, but you know how men are- STUBBORN!! And my husband is the most stubborn of them all. But this year the national dental research conference was in Orlando, at the Dolphin, so pretty much he had no choice. We were going to the World, dang-it!!
In fact, I think the conversation went a little something like this:
DH: Hey, hon- guess what?
Me: What?
DH: My conference is in Orlando this year, do you want
Me: WERE GOING TO DISNEY WORLD!!
DH: Huh?
Me: Ill go book the room!
DH: ??
Since I finally won, heehee, I immediately started to plan our trip. We will be staying from 3/12-3/15 at the AKL, with a pool view. I wish we could splurge for the Savannah view, but alas, Dental School is expensive, so the pool it is! (I mean, if you think about it, I bet that there are people in the pool that could qualify as wildlife, so its practically the same thing!)
Now, to give you an idea of just how obsessive of a planner I am, I need to tell you about THE LIST. The List is a spreadsheet that outlines each day of a trip with activities we will be doing. The List also includes a detailed outline of our outfits for said activity, so that we coordinate. (Yes, I am a freak. I know!)
But this trip is different. Because I am pregnant and tired, and because I got a cold last week and typing The List was too hard to do. So we are playing it by ear. Well, sort of- I did make ADRs for every day. And I did make a short list of rides pregnant ladies cant go on. And I just might have printed out menus for all the restaurants we have ADRs at, and found coupons for the Ghirardelli Ice Cream Shoppe, and spent countless hours reading posts on DIS. But as for the coordination of our outfits- we are just going to have to play that by ear. Now *that* is living on the wild-side, folks!
As I mentioned, DH is already in Florida right now, learning all about teeth and other interesting subject matter! I fly out on Saturday morning on Allegiant Air. And then the real adventure begins!
