Just started - ? about weight/inches

What a great site. I always check the WDW board, 'cuz we are such Disney lovers and are always looking for a bargin or new adventure. And now to find this -- I'll really be here all the time!

I just started Atkins this week; didn't think I could stick with it, then I found the chocolate shake mix...... must have chocolate.

Other posters (& the book) say to look for inch loss, not always weight. It's probably not rocket science, but HOW can you lose inches and not be losing weight. Where does it go?

turning fat into muscle. muscle is leaner and takes up less room...therefore less inches. It's wonderful. I've been doing Atkins for 3 1/2 weeks and have lost 13 lbs and over 20 inches!
Alot of time you will hear people tell of how the scale doesn't move, but the measure tape does and when the measure tape isn't moving the scale is. So it is important to take your measurements! btw...if you didn't know...the shakes are not allowed on induction. You really should try to do a clean 2 week induction and then maybe you can allow yourself a shake once in awhile once you move on to OWL. DH bought some shakes and bars for me the other day and it's been killing me not to try them, but I'm trying to stay on induction a bit longer. Good luck to you!

WOW, 13 pounds, that's encouraging. I didn't realize the shakes weren't on the induction. I thought I saw a scoop of the shake mix in some of the induction recipes on the Atkins site, guess it was wishfull thinking.

Maybe that's why the scales haven't moved! I'll try again.
