Just Spoke With Disney Reservations

Well, for all of us who were getting our hopes up that we could book our 2008 vacations on June 23rd, I'm sad to report that it doesn't seem like it's gonna happen. When I read on these boards and on Allearsnet that there was a possibility you could book on June 23rd, I got all excited!

For a week now, I have been calling 407-W-DISNEY attempting to book a 2008 package. (Even though I know that, historically, the rates don't come out until mid-August) Each time, I have been told mid-August.

After reading about the 23rd, I called again. The reservationist said she knew absolutely nothing about the changes that were to become effective the 23rd. She even put me on hold and when she came back on the line she said no one else around her knew anything about it either.

Each time I have called, I have asked what is the earliest they have ever seen rates come out. Each time, I am told July.

I just got off the phone with reservations again and she said she had just been told that there is a possibility that the rates will be posted the first week of July. That's the first time I have been told that.

I sure hope it happens soon. I am about to bust to book our next WDW vacation. (Even though I have only been home a week and 2 days from a 10 day trip)

Why not book room only and add on the package when the rates come out, or do you prefer to get everything done in one fell swoop. (Aside from ADR's that is )

Would like to get it all done in one swoop. Just seems easier to me even though there probably really isn't a big difference.

I just went on the Disney World UK site and punched a 7 Day April 2008 Full Package with their version of Park Hop and Water Park...


Example...
7 nights POR Standard Room April 19-26, 2008 - 2 Adults, 2 Kids
7 Day MYW with PHop & WPark
$1194 British Pounds = $2375 US (converted)

That is exactly what that Nov 07 Package would cost on the US WDW web site.

Why can you get a full package in British Pounds for April 08 but not U.S.?
They have obviously figured out the rates or they wouldn't be offering the full packages to British travellers

I went to the website and put in my dates just to see what came up. Funny thing was it wouldn't let me choose the dining plan. Every time I checked the box for the plan, it unchecked it & wouldn't let me add to the package. Strange.....

I just checked as well.
You can add Dining to an 07 package (BTW costs the same as US DDP) but you can't add dining to an 08 package?
Maybe they are going to change the price of the DDP for 08?
Probably why it is not offered in UK right now!

I noticed that they had rates out for the UK last week. All the more reason I believed that those rates would come out today here in the US. I wish they would magically appear before the end of the day but I doubt it.

I guess I will just keep checking ever so often on the WDW website as well as reading the DIS, Which is what I've been doing. I just hope they don't wait until August to put the rates out because early-mid August is when my 180 day mark is for ADR's!!
