I know some of you have been waiting for a report on Windsor Hills. We have been here since 10/28 and are leaving in the morning to go back home :sad1: :sad1: If any of you have any questions about Windsor hills I will try to answer them for you.

Hi aquaticmom,

We are leaving for Windsor Hills in 20 days. I'd love to hear what you thought of it. Look forward to your trip report!

Can you tell me about the shuttle to the parks ie cost, times it runs, etc?

Can't wait to read your report. Can you give us a quick summary in the meantime?

Yes, a quick overview please! I think there are several of us who have recently reserved a home or condo there for next year and we are all hoping that the resort looks as good as the website! Thanks so much.

Okay here it is - just spent 9 days at Windsor Hills. You have to pay a $6 deposit on a key that gives you access to the amenities. Remember to check the store hours so you can turn it back in, they were not open when we left so we now have a $6 souvenior key. The community pool is beautiful. The kids really enjoyed the water slides which were only open if there was a so called Lifeguard there. But they were open almost all of the time. I am a Lifeguard and I don't really think the people they had guarding the exit of the slide were real lifeguards, one of them smoked while "guarding" the other one was reading a Florida Real Estate book. But they did have someone there controlling when the next person could go up the steps to the slide. The rest of the pool is not guarded. There is a big hot tub nestled away in a nice shaded area. The ping-pong tables were outside, and we enjoyed playing by the pool. I have to admit I did not use the fitness center, but peeked in and the equipment was state of the art. We also did not take advantage of the movie theatre, but your family can choose the movie for the evening. The little store is nice and not too overpriced. The shuttle service they use is not their own it is Maingate Transportation and VERY expensive. The cost is $10 PER PERSON per day for Disney Parks more for Universal. If anyone needs additional shuttle info let me know I brought home their departure time chart. The resort is only about 1 mile off of Highway 192 between mile marker 5 and 6. One road down from Sherberth. Very Easy to get to any of the parks and just as easy to return back in the evening. Any questions just Pm me or Post so everyone else can see.

aquaticmom, thanks so much for the review. Did you notice a lot of construction still going on? Also, do you think it matters where the home you stay in is located within the development....closer to the clubhouse or further in back or doesn't it matter? The reason I ask is I think my family will enjoy the community ammenities, as well as what the home offers, but based on the number of homes I have seen listed it seems as though it's quite possible you could have to drive to the main pool, clubhouse area if you are in the back of the development. Just curious where your home was located and if you had a preference for location. Thanks!

We were on Comrow Street, which are the homes just past the condo's. There was a nice little sidewalk pathway that led from our house to the pool area. It only took us about 2 minutes to walk from our house. Comrow is in the Phase 1 area of the development. There was not any construction going on in that area as it is complete. I am not absolutely sure but I think they are now on Phase 3, so I would not want to rent in that area because it is the farthest away from the amenities (except the playground) and it is still under construction.

Thank you sooo much for the great info. I have a couple of questins, did you go grocery shopping, and if you did how far away was the grocery store? Approximately how long did it take you to get to the parks? Thank you in advance for any insight you might be able to offer!!!!

The Publix was about three miles away. But we sent the guys out to the store later in the week and they went to Super Walmart which was less than 5 miles and the prices were SO much lower. With traffic it took us about 15 minutes to the MK and a little less to the other parks. When you pulled onto Highway 192 - from Old Lake Wilson road which Windsor Hills is on you could see World Drive, it was less than a 1/2 mile to World Drive from the end of Old Lake Wilson Road. Windsor Hills was about a mile down Old Lake Wilson road off of highway 192.
