Just Say No!...to the $12.00 Cannoli.

There is a review of Tutto Italia on the DIS Unplugged podcast and photos from our recent dinner.

Here is a link to the photos and to the podcast review.

You get two cannoli for $12.00. In the photo I placed a regular teaspoon on the plate for reference.

In the photo of the antipasto misto...they are serving utensils.

Holy cow, that's crazy! We're lucky enough to have the flagship Whole Foods (it's also below the headquarters), which means the bakery is incredible..even exceeds other Whole Foods bakeries. And as you all know, Whole Foods is hardly budget. Well they make a mean cannoli, about the size of this one, with chocolate chips or pistachios. But they charge $1.99/ea...and they don't look overfried like those shells.

I agree...but there's "gouging" and there's "GOUGING".

What TI is doing is just crazy. Their prices make the OTHER Disney prices look "reasonable". All things considered, that's pretty astounding.

We'll take a pass. We have amazing italian food nearby at home.....I'd venture at least as good as TI and probably MUCH better....and would pay roughly 1/2 to 1/3 of their prices, depending on the item. The cannoli, for example, which are 100% home made, fresh, and HUGE (think size of a good bakery's eclairs...or about 1 1/2 times the size of the ones in the review pics above) run $4....for TWO of them on a plate. Thankfully, there's other choices around Epcot.....none what I would call reasonably priced, but certainly much better VALUES that TI seems to be.

Agree 100%. But the prices at Il Mulino at the Swan are every bit as bad as at Tutto Italia, with the exception that they don't have cannoli on the dessert menu. Il Mulino is not on the dining plan and offers no discounts. This doesn't justify either one, and I don't plan to patronize either of them. Just pointing out that Tutto Italia is not unique, but part of a disturbing trend. If this is what results from outsourcing restaurants, may they perish quickly.

Tutto Italia seems to be really pushing the envelope with their absurd prices. I realize everyone has different budgets and some are more than willing to pay high prices for food for varying reasons, but a cannoli is a cannoli, and $12.00 is blatant overpricing. You know it's the same cannoli that is sold at the kiosk just outside their door for $4.00, with plate art added, but come on. I say no to the $12.00 cannoli! If you don't agree, just move me to the Budget Board! ;)

its alive again. no....no...i dont want a 12.00 cannoli.

I just looked at the menu for Il Munino for the first time and was shocked at the prices. With three girls, two considered adults, we just can't afford to eat anymore at WDW. I am at the point where we are priced out of a WDW vacation and I never thought we were poor, until now.

I don't think that just because a WDW vacation might be out of your price range that you are poor. Hardly. I think that most poor people have never been to WDW world.
