Just Say No!...to the $12.00 Cannoli.

$12 is an obscene amount of money for a canoli. And, the rest of their prices seem absurd as well. :sad2:

The menu seems "ehh" to me. Granted, pasta & peas is an Italian "comfort food." But for $24.00? Please. :sad2:

Not much on the menu appeals to me, and the prices are outrageous.
I get a great Italian cannoli right here at our local gelateria..for about $2...and its amazing.

Has anyone had the cannolli? Is there anything special about it? Is it the same as the one they sell elsewhere in the Italy Pavilion?

I'm one of the only people on the other thread about this restaurant actually holding out hope for it but I am curious about the cannollis.

I bet the plate is huge, and looks REALLY pretty with artsy placement of the 10x sugar, and in the middle, is that amazing $12.00 cannoli. ;) Seriously though, I would love to see the 1st picture on this board of this Cannoli!

We're going on our vacation in 19 days and have a reservation at Tutto Italia, I do not like cannoli's but I will order it to see what a "$12 cannoli" looks like. :rotfl: :rotfl: Linda

ps- if we weren't on the ddp, we would not eat here. We are going for 9 nights and have the ddp but unfortunately will probably never get the ddp again since it is going to change in 2008.

$12 for a cannoli is molto pazzo (italian for very crazy) - but maybe it's kind that makes you loose five pounds instead of gain it, then it's definitely worth it;) . Since we are doing the DDP this year and probably not next year with the not so cost effective anymore changes, I switched our 50's Prime Time ADR to a Tutto Italia ADR, with those prices:eek: the only way I'll try it is with 1 TS credit.

Please tell me you're taking your camera!

Thank God I'm not the only one that thinks their prices are wacked!

Even if your on the DDP in 2008 you have to pay the tip for that 12.00 canoli!

Which for us generous folks would bring it up to $14.

Having grown up in Sopranos country (south Jersey is my new home) we know what a good canoli costs... and it's not $14.

I agree. I thought Il Mulino at the Swan was priced high, but I'd much rather go there. Or for that matter, hit Citricos, California Grill, Flying Fish, or Jiko.

I'm guessing this is going to be a DDP restaurant only. I mean after all, who cares if it is going to cost $100+ per person to eat there if it is only 1 TS per person instead.

It's a great way for the servers to get nicer tips... jack up the prices, force people to the DDP so they can afford to eat at places... and a guaranteed tip!

I was at Disney last week and picked up a menu and about keeled over when I saw the $24 pasta dishes. The $12 Cannoli is just crazy. Am subscribing to this thread just to see the photo.

SILLY prices!!! Even a Gelato w/berries $14:confused3 Sounds a bit steep!!! Wondering if this is 'better' than Alfredos that use to be there? Has anyone tried this new place? Was under renovation when we were there in late Aug.

I made ADR for our trip in three weeks. I changed from the new Japanese place to Tutto Italia. Since this is the last time for the "good" dining plan I thought we would find out how good penne with crushed tomatoes and moz at $24.00 and a $12.00 cannoli can be:lmao: I saw that the Japanese place, Teppan Edo won't be open (hopefully) until 2 or 3 days before our trip. I'm going to let others be the first and report back. I'll report on Tutto when we return. :surfweb: Have a Disney day:cool1:

GO PHILLIES:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

In 2008 the servers will probably get very bad tips on the DDP. Guest will feel ripped off having to pay a 15-20tip/ per person for "pasta and Canoli" OOP after having aready paid for the DDP. I don't think it will force people to use the DDP it will force them offsite or to counterservice. I am in the process of helping serveral collegues plan trips in May 2008 who have gone in the past with the DDP. Their reaction to the changes of the DDP were of the "Then why do it variety?" If you are a family of 5 with 4 adults by Disney standards and 1 child and do the math for the cost of the plan and tip OOP it really becomes cost prohibitive. IMHO Disney has pushed the limit and people will react.

We didnt have this place on our list for our 08 trip and we are getting close to making our ADR so it will be interesting to see the reviews and pictures...

At work the other day I was eating a cannoli. One of our patient's family member brought them in for the staff. As I was eating it I told the rest of them that in Epcot you could get one cannoli for 12.00. Know one believed me. The whole box we were eating was 12.00! That was for a dozen. I might add they were very good. Disney needs to evaluate their food prices. Families cannot afford to eat on property anymore. They are going to drive people to go off property to find inexpensive dining. I also bet the food will be better.

Actually, I think that families can afford to eat on property and they do. That's why there are line ups and it's difficult to get ADRs at many places. I don't think Disney's too worried about going out of business for over-priced food. :)
