Just Saved $300 for Our Upcoming Trip in January (Passholder)

We are booked from January 5th until the 12th. Each month I look for special discounts. We live in Florida and became Silver Pass Holders but have not used our passes yet (day one starts when you get there). When I looked today there was Spring 2019 for Annual Pass Holders - $300 less than we paid. I called WDW (and had a very frustrating experience with a less than enthusiastic Cast Member) and after 45 minutes asked to speak to a supervisor. She was able to transfer my reservation and refund me $300.

I usually buy the weekday Fla Resident AP. I didn't know there monthly discounts? I usually poke around and find offers also.

You had booked under rack rate and were looking to apply the passholder discount? I am so sorry you had that experience.
FYI - even though it is very easy to do for yourself, if you use a TA, they can do that for you (and deal with any CM frustrations). Doesn't cost you a penny either.

I wouldn't transfer control to a TA if I were looking to get hard to book fastpasses and dining reservations. Once you transfer your reservation it is my understanding that you have to go through the TA for most changes and additions. Disney is pretty straight forward booking - almost all of us can handle it ourselves.

I would definitely seek a TA for many other aspects of travel.
