We returned yesterday 6/9. It was humid, it rained everyday, the crowds were thick...and I would do it all over again. We really had a good time.

I thought that with Gay Days going on that the crowds would be crazy, but they really weren't. We did have to wait 85 minutes for Soarin', but it was worth it and I would do it again. We waited an hour for Test Track and I will only FP that one from now on.

I could have done without the humidity, but overall it was not so bad. Living in Texas, we are used to heat and humidity.

I did not encounter any of those rude wheelchair or stroller users I read so much about. I had one lady almost hit me with her electric wheelchair because she did not know what she was doing, but she was older and I thought nothing of it. I did not get clipped by any strollers. There were those annoying people that stopped in the middle of the walkway for no reason, but most of those did not have strollers or wheelchairs.

I believe I only had a few incidents where I had to say something.

1. There was a little boy behind me who poked me in my booty a few times. After having his hand/finger in my butt crack for the 3rd time in 5 minutes, I did turn around and tell his mother, "Would you kindly get your son's finger out of my butt."

2. While we were standing in line for "Honey I Shrunk the Audience", there were two girls muggin' down. It was quite nasty because it sounded like they were eating taffy. I did look at them and tell them to get a room. Nobody needed to see or HEAR that. :sad2:

3. We were eating at H&V and the little boy at the table next to us would not sit down and eat and instead decided to play with his light saber between our table and his and it was annoying. He got really close to my daughter's eye and I put my hand up and shoved the saber away over towards his parents. After that, his dad finally got onto him, made him put it up and they left about 5 minutes later. The mom just sat there like it was no big deal that he was disrupting our (and other guests) meals.

We did encounter some families with children that were in line behind us that constantly hit or poked us, but once I gave the parents "the look", it stopped.

Overall it was a pleasant trip. I did learn one thing, however. I will never go on a vacation with my MIL again. She pouts like a baby if she does not get her way. She thinks she should always be first, that everybody should do everything for her and that it is all about her. :sad2:

If you have not done Soarin', please be sure to do so. You will be so glad you did. It was awesome. Very nice, relaxing and quite amazing.

**Just a suggestion.....unless you think you will melt in the rain, :umbrella: I would not waste money on ponchos. We used the ponchos to cover our camera backpack, but did not wear them ourselves. After being so humid outside, the rain felt great. And, wearing a poncho with it being so humid, only made you hotter.

Did you do any water parks? We're going to TL tomorrow for the day and I'm sure hoping the weather isn't bad all day! I haven't been in years but the last time we went it was a rainy day as well.

We did not do TL or BB. When it rained, it did not last long and it was humid again. We were there for 8 days and 2 of the days it rained a lot. The other days, it rained at about 4:00 every day. I think if that keeps up, you will be fine with the weather.

How was the Stitch Adventure?

Amirah - we did not do Stitch. My fil and mil did it and said it was not worth the wait or wasting a FP on, so we skipped it.

It was wonderful. We waited 85 minutes in line and it was worth the wait. The FPs were gone daily by 2:00. I thought I would get sick to my stomach since it is Omni and looks real, but it was quite relaxing and very smooth. I really anjoyed it and will certainly do it again.

:rotfl2: That is hysterical!

Glad you had a great time. I almost didn't read your thread because I don't like to read about complaints - but I'm glad I did!

Thanks for sharing!

We were at the waterparks last week. We had a BLAST at TL!! I would go back to Orlando just for TL. You MUST do Crushin' Gusher. There are 3 lines, the right line is the fastest slide, the middle is the slowest ride and the left is medium. When we were there it was raining as well, which also meant no lines. We got off the slide and just walked right back up the stairs several times in a row! The wave pool is also great. We spent several hours in that alone! Even my youngest who isn't much of a water lover loved TL.

I'm glad you talked to the mom about the kid who was bugging you. I've decided that I'm not going to tolerate horrible kid behavior anymore. At "Festival of the Lion King" two boys (maybe 12 yrs old) next to me were horsing around with two boys in the row below us. They were "play hitting" and puching each other and KEPT hitting me. I (loudly) asked the boy closest to me if they were there alone or if an adult was with them. The boy pointed out his dad...sitting there, doing nothing...

After this exchange, they still didn't stop and I just told them all that they needed to stop horsing around..and they did. Simple as that; annoyance over.

is there a height limit for Crushin' Gusher?
My DD can't wait ... hope she's tall enough
thanks

If kids bother you going in June is probably not a good time to go. Given there are even more kids due to summer vacation, crowds, heat, humidity and long lines make for more irritable people of all ages all around. What might not bother you at a different time of year might seem horrid when you are there in June. Things just seem to get on people's nerves more easily.

I know what you are describing, but given I have two small kids and have been during the summer months I can see the bigger picture.

We just went this past April and even though the crowds were large the weather was beautiful and I've never seen so many happy people in all my trips to WDW. I've already booked next spring break cause we had such an enjoyable time.

Hope your next trip is better.

Oh no! I think you took MY MIL by mistake! LOL.

We're going with my inlaws in July and my MIL is just like you described yours - but in a not-so-obvious way. She really controls everyone. But I have a set of rules in place - rule #1: DH and I are always right because we're doing all the planning and we've been to WDW so many times. So if my MIL pouts, I'll put rule #1 into effect and that will be the end of that!

Welcome back! I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed your trip :)

Kid's don't bother me. Ill-mannered unsupervised children bother me. I have a 7-year-old and she did not put her fingers in anybody's butt nor did she stick a light saber in anybody's eye. It is not the children's fault anyhow, it is the parents.

If it makes you feel any better, I took my MIL (without hubby, her son) on a trip from PA to Nashville. She did NOT shower or bathe the entire 6 days, just washed up a little with a washcloth. She didn't want to waste time taking a bath. It was summer, hot, humid, and boy did she stink. She just started to overload the perfume. Lucky for us, a flu started in the travelers, and we grabbed some plastic buckets and headed home.

Never took her again. We still call it the "vacation from He**"

Hahahahahaha!!! :rotfl2: It is sad, isn't it? My mil acts like a huge baby. Her son, husband and brothers all say that about her, so I know it is not only me.

For using DME, we got 2 vouchers for lanyard and trading pins. I thought we were only going to get 1, so I planned to give it to my daughter, who is 7. When we got a second one, I kept it because I did all of the planning. My mil puted because she did not get one and I told her that I kept the second one because I did all of the planning for the trip. She got mad and pouted. My husband told me she would act like that because she always wants to have her way.

So maybe next vacation, you and I can send our mils off together and they can take turns pouting over who is going to get their way. :rotfl2:

Yikes, that is bad. My mil would not skip a shower. She is "Miss Diva", she thinks that she is "IT" and that everybody should give her what she wants. My husband told me before we ever married, "If you want to get along with my mom, you will have to kiss her @$$, because to her, that is what she thinks respect is. Her father spoiled her, my dad spoils her and she expects everybody else to do the same." So, needless to say, in her eyes, I do not respect her. :rotfl:

I think if I was in your shoes, the smell of my mil alone would make me sick, I would not need to have the flu for me to get ill.

I learned on this trip that there are a lot of people in the World that do not know what deodorant is. ICK!!!

I saw agree with you. I am the mother of a very active 6 yo!! And while kids will be kids and will always try things, I put my foot down if he is bothering anyone else. I can't stand when the parent is sitting there not saying anything while the child is disturbing other people around them!! Good for you for speaking up. :cheer2:
