Hello everyone, just returned from a short trip to WDW. Here is a quick report, I'll be glad to answer any questions!
We tried EE for the first time on Saturday at MK. It was great, well worth getting up early for! We were able to ride Buzz Lightyear 5 times, Space Mountain, Peter Pan, It's a Small World, Dumbo, Snow White, Tea Cups, Thunder Mountain twice, Splash Mountain, and Haunted Mansion all before breakfast at Cinderella's royal table at 9:30! And we were leisurely about it, definitely could have squeezed more in! Breakfast was great, we had a table right at the window and Peter Pan and Captain hook ran by outside and Peter tapped on the window right at our table! It was so magical! We enjoyed the fairy godmother in the lobby of the castle, she was so good with the kids, gave each one special attention. We watched the new Castle show and were very impressed with it, much better than the last one, imho!
We liked the new parade at MK, esp. since I love snow globes. AND Wendy Darling was in the parade and I was able to see her for the first time ever! That was great! I enjoyed the music too, looked everywhere for the CD (I had read about it online before our trip) but I could not find it anywhere! I only have one complaint - sometimes a float would stop right past us (the last one did, with Peter) so we were at the backside of it and could not see Peter Pan talking and that seemed to be a big part of the parade. Luckily we were able to walk from Frontierland (where we were sitting) to Main Street and watch the parade again because it moved slow enough. So I was able to see all that I missed! We had front row spots in Frontierland and that was about 15 minutes before parade time. When we walked to Main Street and the parade had of course started we were able to find a spot only one row back.
Saturday night we did the Fantasmic dinner package (ate at Brown Derby)-and please don't flame me for this- but we were disappointed with Fantasmic! Perhaps we had too high of expectations from the planning videos and everybody raving about it.
We really enjoyed Walt's new exhibit and esp. the movie at the end. My boyfriend was afraid the whole thing would be boring but was so glad afterwards that we did it, he enjoyed it as much as I did.
I enjoyed the new MGM parade but the music was not in sync with the floats, so we would see the Mulan car with the star wars music and the little mermaid float with the toy story music, we will have to try it again next trip, perhaps it was because we were at the end of the parade route or maybe because it was a new parade without all the kinks ironed out. But still a good parade.
We stayed at All Star Movies, in Fantasia 2000. We also went to Downtown Disney to both the marketplace and Pleasure Island, and we spent an evening at the Boardwalk. We ate at Flying Fish, Boma's, and Kona Cafe this trip. Bus service was great, crowds were light for a holiday weekend but not as light as we are used to in September. We did skip the parks midday so don't know how crowds were then. MK on Columbus Day (Monday) was lighter than I would have expected. The security checkpoints did not take long to go through. We drove to a few places this trip when we normally always take WDW transportation. We found it very easy to get around.
And I met my first fellow DISer, liltx, and her husband. I was able to give them my extra Cindy's ps. It was pretty cool meeting them!
Ok, I'll stop rambling, I'd be glad to answer any questions!
