First let me thank everyone who answered any questions I may have asked prior to this trip....and also thank you to those of you who post on these boards on a regular basis....because of all the valuable information I learned from y'all our 12/29 to 1/5 trip was GREAT!!!! The first night we arrived we just grabbed a quick dinner and went to bed early to get an early start on the next day. Day 1 was Magic Kingdom......yes it was crowded but we (DH, DD 7, and myself) used fast passes and got through a mojority of the rides on the first day. We ate at Crystal Palace and it was good...our server was a lady named Barbara and she was super nice...one of the nicest Cms we encountered. New Years Eve we chose to go to DIsney MGM Studios. Yes it was also crowded there but we did almost every single thing in the park (except playhouse disney) and had a GREAT time. Beauty and the BEast was wonderful...even my " I can't believe you made me come to Disneyworld and spend all this money" hubby liked the show! He thought Belle was beauty-ful!!! The next day we went back to Magic Kingdom for about four hours and did the few things we didn't get to on the first day and then off to MGM we went for some Rock n Roller coaster and Tower of Terror. On the second (which is DDs birthday) we had breakfast at the castle and all the princesses were wonderful to my daughter. Breakfast wasn't bad either! YUM YUM cream cheese french toast! DD had her hair done at the barbershop....way cute! Then we went to animal kingdom. We loved the safari and kali river rapids....didn't get wet much at all! Then...you guessed it...off to MGM again.....and as an added bonus it just happened to be an extra magic hour evening!!!!! YEAH!!!! Can you tell MGM was a fave? I do have to tell you that we ate at Sci-Fi for dinner this night and were not impressed at all. Meal was not worth the money we paid for it. Will definitely not eat there again. The last two days were spent at Epcot which was ok...loved the world showcase. MY DD got a Lion from the candy maker in Japan...soooo cute!!! Illuminations was AWESOME!!!! We ate Dinner at Restaurant Akershus...absolutely the best meal we had at Disney. The service was wonderful also....would HIGHLY recommend it! Unfortunately my DD came down with a stomach virus and woke up sick at about 3 am on the 4th and was sick for a mojority of the day. So mostly yesterday we hung around the hotel room at Shades of Green which is very nice..... She felt better at about 4 in the afternoon and wanted to go back to Epcot. We rented her a double stroller and she pretty much slept through the afternoon. We left at nine and decided to go ahead and drive home and arrived about an hour ago. So needless to say I am off for some much needed rest.....enjoy your day everyone!!!! :D :D

but sorry about your little munchkin coming down with the stomach virus.....sounds like you did alot in your trip and I am now anxious for mine.......thanks again for your report...

thanks for posting - hope your daughter is feeling better

isnt it amazing how much you can learn from these boards?

Thank you so much for your report! We are hoping to go from 12/27 - 1/2 next year! May I ask how was New Years Eve at MGM? Did they have a count-down/fireworks? Hopefully we will be there next year and will be looking for something to do! Also, how was the weather? Was it "swimming" weather?

Thanks -
Jacki

The weather was wonderful....upper 70s the whole time with the exception of one day....dd swam at night in the hotel pool and it was fine. On New Years Eve they do have fireworks and a countdown and they gave out plastic top hats with happy new year and walt disney world and the year printed on them and horns to blow....they had bands and a DJ playing music too...it was alot of fun....we really enjoyed it. Would definitely say go to MGM for New Years but I haven't had a chance to go to any other park on New Years Eve so I have no comparison.....thanks for everyones concerns about my daughter shes doing ok now....any other questions I'd be happy to answer!!! :flower1:

Hi -

We were at MGM NYE day and it was not bad at all. I was told that a lot of people opt for MK and Epcot for NYE. We left around 4 pm, so I am not sure how bad it got later in the evening, but during the day it was not half as crowded as it had been earlier in the week. On Tuesday, Dec. 28, at 12:30 the wait for T of Terror was 140 minutes. At the same time on Dec. 31 it was only 60 or 75 (can't remember which). We got there around openeing and had no problems doing all the rides before we left.

Glad to hear that your dd is feeling better! Sounds like you had a great trip overall though. Thanks for the report!!

Sounds like a wonderful first trip! I bet you'll be planning another one soon....

Thanks for sharing!

How were the crowds after the holiday? I guess you spent those days at Epcot. Long lines at Mission Space or Test Track, etc.? We're driving down after work tonight from Atlanta. Staying until Monday. Can't wait! I'm glad to hear that your trip was fun. I love MGM too!
