We just returned from 8 days at the World, and had another great DME experience.
Arrived on Friday night (enroute to Pop). From landing at MCO (timed from the moment I got off the plane), to getting off the bus @ Pop was about 65-70 minutes (and we waited about 10 minutes @ MCO after we boarded the bus).
Luggage arrived in our room about 4 hours after landing (we landed at 7:00pm, and luggage was in the room before 11). I'm not sure of the exact time of luggage arrival, as we weren't in the room. I've read postings about people not wanting to use this service, and I cannot understand the sentiment. Unless you have no checked baggage (ie carry on's only) this is the BEST part of DME -- a casual stroll through MCO and onto the bus, without having to drag luggage.
Return trip was equally smooth. Picked at @ 2:20 from AKL for a 5:20 departure. Arrived at airport @ 3:00pm, and had time for a quick meal before joining the hundreds of people in the security lineup.
We used Resort Check In to get rid of our checked baggage (again, a great convenience) -- our bags weren't seen again until the luggage carousel in Buffalo. In fact, for trips to WDW, I won't reserve a trip on an airline that doesn't use RAC -- it makes life very convenient.
