We just returned from a 6 night/7 day stay at Port Orleans Riverside (11/25-12/1). I must say it was wonderful! The resort was a bit busy at the both the beginning (Thanksgiving weekend) and end (Pop Warner groups checking in) of our stay, but nothing too crazy. We were assigned to stay in Alligator Bayou Building 37, which looked pretty far from the main building on the map, but it was really only a 5 minute walk. It was also very quiet and peaceful. We were right next to the North Bus Depot, which was great! We had no problems with the buses whatsoever. Even when leaving the parks, the buses were full, but we never had to wait more than 5 or 10 minutes. The cast members were very helpful and we had no problems with housekeeping. Room was well stocked and clean everyday!

I would be happy to answer any questions you might have. If you are staying at POR, I hope you have as great a stay as we did!

Hi there,

Glad you enjoyed your stay at POR, my girlfriend and I are staying there in January. I was just wondering, you clearly had good fortune when it came to the location of your room. Did you get a sense of the distance of other buildings from bus stops, front desk, food court, etc? It looks beautiful and I'm so excited to stay at Riverside; my last trip I stayed in FQ and loved it but Riverside was being remodeled so we couldn't check it out.

Thanks!

Thanks for the review. We love the POR and we usually stay in building 39. Did you get to eat at Boatwrights? If so, how was your meal. Thanks!

Did you take the boat to DTD? If so, do you recall what time it starts operating and what times it departs POR?

Thanks for the great review! We have reservations to stay there 2/28-3/4!

We just returned from Riverside as well (11/25 - 12/2), and I agree with the OP assessment. We did not eat at Boatwright's so I can't comment on that. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay (first time at this resort). :thumbsup2

As for distance from rooms to the main building, it seems that no building is more than a 10 minute walk. If you don't have any trouble walking, the resort is very manageable. There are 4 bus stops, so you should have one close to your room location. I think you will find it convenient.

We did not eat at Boatwrights while we were there, however I did overhear some folks talking about it at the pool and said it was very good.

We took the boat many times. It started running at 9:00 to go back and forth from FQ, and then at 11:00 it ran every 20-30 minutes to DTD. We really enjoyed the ride.

Hope this helps!

The boat to DTD does not start running until 11am. There are no specific times of departure, but they run continuously, leaving the dock at Riverside about every 20 to 25 minutes, it seemed.

Thanks for the great review. We're heading to POR on Sunday and looking forward to our visit..

How were the beds?? Were they comfy (soft/hard, pillowtop?)

Thanks

Our bed was actually pretty comfortable. Not too hard, not too soft...with a good level of padding. I slept very well. Hope you do too!

POR is my new favorite resort!!!! I LOVE the grounds as well! We were there in October and stayed in AB building 25. It was GORGEOUS!!! Did you happen to catch Bob Jackson in the lounge? He is a HOOT!! My 7 year old DS had to see him 2 nights in a row because he enjoyed him so much! Glad to hear you had a great stay as well!!:goodvibes
