We spent 3 great days at RPR (more about the hotel in the resorts section).
Friday was pretty crowded, Saturday was packed and Sunday was a breeze beacuse there the crowds just weren't there. Staying onsite is the only way to go. Even on days when the crowds weren't too heavy, it's great to just walk in to the front of the line. Spiderman was broken for abouty an hour but everything else was great. We ate at Pastamore Friday night (OK, not as good as it was a couple of years ago) Mythos for lunch was really good. Be sure to ask for a table outside on their covered patio, you get a great view of the park and it's a little quieter than inside. The Saturday night Mardi Gras parade was a zoo. We decided to stake out a spot near Finnegan's at about 7:30. It wasn't too bad when we got there, BUT...within about 20 minutes, people just began to arrive in droves and just stand right in front of us. We're a family of 5 adults, so we just lived with it. But I felt really sorry for families who had arrived early, sitting on the curb thinking that their small children would have a "front row" view, then having to pick up their children and fight their way to the front of the crowd. It's too bad that there were so many young adults and "grownups" who were rude and pushy just so they could get all of the beads. That was the only negative part of our trip. The park was very clean, the personnel were consistently pleasant and helpful and the weather was great. We bought annual passes so we're looking forward to our next trip!!
