We just returned from a 12 night DVC vacation. We spent one night at AKL and then 11 nights at our home, OKW.
We got our preferred South point area. We were in 5521/20 so we were on the quiet side of building 55. The area was not full down there, but the Turtle Pond area seemed to be at capacity. When we left yesterday, they told us OKW was filled to capacity for this next week.
Our unit was very well maintained, but housekeeping was lacking this time. We had someone assigned to our unit who did not speak English. She had a lot of trouble getting anything right. She missed our second Trash and Towel day completely, and was arriving to do trash and towel when we were taking stuff out of the unit to check out. It wasn't really a big problem though. It just meant we washed towels a few extra times. Housekeeping even left the door to the lock off studio unit open after they cleaned when our ressie went from 2 bedrooms to 1. We could have used the second bedroom if we hadn't been so honest. We went ahead and closed the doors and locked them. The unit was not used during the rest of our stay.
Bus service was fantastic!!! The bus on demand system is definately working better than the old system was. I doubt we ever waited more than 15 minutes, and most times it was less than 5!!
I really missed the placemats and hot pads. Trying to use towels for hot pads and a trivet was not easy. I managed to spill lasagne sauce all over the kitchen towels trying to use them to get the hot pan out of the oven. They did have small boxes of Cascade in the unit this time. I liked that much better than the small packets of auto dishwasher soap they had before. We used the kitchen a lot, so they had to bring us another box half way through the trip.
This unit was VERY quiet!
I did notice that those staying in the ground floor unit of this building near the hot tub kept everything closed up. I would assume that unit would get lots of noise etc. from the pool and hot tub area.
