just returned from memphis...

We just got back last night from our road trip to Memphis, and I just want to say that we absolutely loved the city and all the friendly people we met!

We toured Graceland and Sun Studio. We watched the procession of ducks at the Peabody Hotel, walked all over downtown Memphis, rode the trolley, visited Beale Street, took a sightseeing tour on the Memphis Riverboats, and spent a day at the Memphis Zoo. We never experienced so much Southern hospitality. Everyone from shuttle bus drivers to waitresses and waiters, to tour guides and hotel employees, were super friendly.

I also want to thank those of you who suggested we stay outside of Memphis, around the Wolfchase Galleria mall area. We stayed at the Springhill Suites and were very pleased. It was clean and in a very nice area of Memphis.

If you live in the Memphis area, you should be very proud of your fine city and wonderful people!

I wish I knew you were coming...we just finished building our house (about three miles from the hotel you stayed at) and closed on Friday...you could have helped paint baseboards with me!

Glad you enjoyed it... please tell me you had some good food, too!

I'm so glad you enjoyed your trip (and that, hopefully, some of the "floods" held off for you)! I live about 5 miles from that mall, in another little community.

When I have had visitors from "up North", they have raved about our Southern hospitality.
