Hello,
We are just back and I thought I'd write a quick review. We stayed at the Hawthorn Suitles LBV from 4/26 - 5/4 and had a fantastic time:) ! The hotel looked exactly like it does in the brochure both inside and out. The rooms were very clean as was the pool area. We were able to check in early (about 12:30) and when we got to our room, dh noticed one of the lightbulbs in the bathroom was out so he went down and reported it to the front desk. We left for a couple of hours and when we returned, it was already replaced--I was impressed. We swam in the pool a lot (it was HOT last week) and liked it very much. It isn't a huge pool, only 5 feet deep in the middle, but there is a jacuzzi and fresh towels there as well. There is also a basketball court and gazebo in the pool area. The breakfast was adequate. There were bagels, danish, donuts, muffins, and some kind of eggs (either scrambled or omelets) and a meat everyday. It was nice to be able to grab a quick bite for free on the way out in the morning. Also, mon. - thurs., they provided beer and wine and light snacks in the lobby. On wed., they bbq hamburgers and hot dogs which was nice as well. The housekeeping was great. They even set up ds's stuffed Mickey a few times which was a nice touch. We also felt very secure as you need a room key to enter the doors into the hotel. Overall, we enjoyed this place very much and would stay again in heartbeat. The only thing we found lacking was guest laundry facilities. For the whole hotel, there are only 2 washers and 2 dryers. We did our washing one night and lucked out to find it empty but by the time we were done, there was at least 3 people waiting. I will be happy to anwer any questions:) .

Hi - glad you posted! We are heading to Hawthorn Suites LBV next week for four nights! :D

Did you use the pool in the evenings, say around 9:00 pm? We love to take a nightly swim, so we were hoping they keep the pool open pretty late! :) Did you see them serving the bbq hotdogs and hamburgers any other days? Did you have any problems getting a table for the breakfast?

Thanks for the warning about laundry - we will keep that in mind!

We are really looking forwards to staying there, since we got a pretty good rate!

Thanks!

:) We did use the pool at night. The hours were 8 am - 11 pm. Most nights it was very uncrowded. There was only one night that there was a school group staying there and then the pool was very crowded but they were gone the next day. I didn't see them serving any hamburgers and hot dogs any other days but they did have appetizers along with the beer and wine each weeknight. One night they had tortilla chips and salsa, popcorn, and swedish meatballs. Another night they had mini eggrolls with the chips and salsa and popcorn so they do provide some hot food. We never had a problem getting a table for the breakfast at all. A few days we did send someone down to get the food and bring it back to our room to eat too without a problem. I hope you have a great time. We also got a great rate and were very happy with the hotel. It is very close to the Downtown Disney entrance to Disney property yet it is on a side street that is very quiet. Have fun:) !

What is LBV? I stayed at Hawthorn Suits back in 1993 and I was wondering if this is the same one. Is this the one next to Seaworld? I was thinking about staying there for one night in September and I was hoping that it was still a nice hotel. We loved it back in 98.

Thanks for the help.

i was wondering how costly it was? i will be in orlando sept 1 to sept 10th .it sounds like a okay place. would like to find some great rates

LBV stands for Lake Buena Vista. The address is 8303 Palm Parkway, Orlando, Florida.
To see all the locations in Florida, go to hawthorn.com. Make sure to click on "wait and save" if you are staying after June 30. Click on "steals and deals" for a special rate before June 30. I believe the rate is $67 a night for a one bedroom with either one king bed or two queen beds at Hawthorn Lake Buena Vista which is near Sea World. Very nice price!

:) Hi tltjet and KAREN8130,
As Robinlyn has said LBV does stand for Lake Buena Vista. I do think that there is another Hawthorn closer to Seaworld. The LBV one was built in 2000. I have heard good things about the Seaworld one as well, though I've never stayed there. We payed 76.00 a night but I have seen it go down to 67.00 like Robinlyn has said. Too bad it was for the week after our vacation...oh well. A good way to watch the rates for at least the LBV Hawthorn is to sign up for the Avista hotels newsletter. I am not sure if they also own the Seaworld one. If you go to www.hawthornsuiteslbv.com and click on the newsletter button at the top, they will e-mail you when they have sales. Hope this helps.:)
