I’m sorry. We go on our first cruise in April. I really hope things turn around by then. I’ll be pretty upset if our Eastern becomes a Mexico cruise. Eastern costs more than Western 100% of the time.
March is a long way away, in virus time. Omicron is peaking now, actually just past its peak in many places. A month+ from now, it could very possibly be in steep decline. This is my issue. Booked on an eastern in early March and right now I don't think there is anyway at all we are going to St. Thomas so it will likely turn into a Western but apparently Disney isn't adjusting costs accordingly.
I have never found that to be true. Cost differences between 7-night Easterns & 7-night Westerns on the Fantasy are about the sailing dates, not the itinerary. By far the most expensive cruise I ever sailed was a 7-night Eastern on the Fantasy over New Year's, and we sailed in an oceanview. That cruise cost significantly more than even our June Alaska cruise in a Navigator's Verandah. Likewise, I've seen other Easterns closer to spring break or summer cost more than the previous week's Western, and vice versa.Eastern costs more than Western 100% of the time.
we were booked on the fantasy eastern itinerary, but would have preferred western! Took that itinerary b/c it fit our spring break dates. I was concerned about missing port days generally plus other issues. Otherwise, I’d have been happy w/ the reroute.I’m sorry. We go on our first cruise in April. Well, I haven't checked prices in over a decade, but that used to be the norm. The Western was always cheaper than the Eastern. This is back when the Magic alternated Western and Easterns, and the Westerns before and after the Eastern week were always cheaper.I have never found that to be true. I wonder if 7 months after the restart whether we have reached the point where cruise lines are going to be less flexible with continued reduced capacity and reduced demand. This may be the first such case for Disney. Carnival made some changes, that after next month, it will be harder to get a refund if you choose to cancel. And they said masks/testing/vaccine requirements will remain in place for the "foreseeable future ", their choice of words. And casinos will remain non-smoking, and drinking in the casino will require you to dip your mask for a sip then replace it. You can't be maskless.
Sounds like they are shifting some of the financial risk back to the passengers who choose to cruise during a pandemic.
Well, that would be historic. A Disney price cut. Actually, following Disney practice they likely will increase prices for the more intimate experience. That's all fine.
Just slash the price by 50% for the potential inconvenience/disappointments.
Everyone on the ship wanted to know why we would bother going to a port for a few hours. It didn't make sense to anyone. Just don't bother at that point. Some in guest services said it was so we could go to CC our last day. Others in guest services said that wasn't correct and it was never in the plan to try CC again. Never got a straight answer.
Restroom trailers outside the tents.Regarding the testing tents at the port … are there bathrooms available? I’m guessing there are but My DW and MIL can get a bit of anxiety induced IBS and waiting for the test results may be a trigger. Thanks!
Nope, we didn't get anything.
I'm sorry the wind kept you from docking at Castaway Cay. That's awful. How were the shows? Game shows? Bingo?
