Just returned from CORONADO SPRINGS: Any Questions?

Can you walk to Animal Kingdom/Animal Kingdom Lodge from CSR? Just wanted to know if it's do-able. If you have any tips or directions, I'd be very appreciative!

Hmmm, not positive yet I do not think you can walk to AK or AKL from CSR. I do know it was only a few minutes by bus.

We have'nt stayed at CSR yet our first trip will be aug/sept and we are very much looking forward to it. We have gone to the hotel to check it out and eat at the pepper market. When I went over to the section with the chinese food the cook their was in a very bad mood I placed my order and waited as the food was being cooked and he was slamming things around and rambling on to himself I could'nt wait to get my food and go sit down. I think the food is good and I like the way you get your food first and eat and then pay instead of standing in line at other resort food courts with your tray of food waiting to pay. I did'nt like the way the people that serve you your drinks hang around so much while you are eating, we only ate there twice about a year apart and had the same server she stood very near our table the whole time I guess the place was'nt busy enough at the time we went, maybe it's just her that does that. Anyhow we did enjoy the food and that was one of the reasons we are staying there since we will be on the ddp and also buzzes website and I mostly here good things about CSR it is a very pretty resort.

As I have posted, many of the staff members at PM "left a lot to be desired." Yet as my husband and I were talking about it earlier, it seemed that the same people were there no matter what time we went into the PM-that made for long days for them, tha't for sure. I will be honest, it did put a damper on things at times. Yet nothing was going to ruin a wonderful week at CSR! :) Have a wonderful trip!!

No you can't walk to AK or AKL. You can walk to Blizzard Beach via the sidewalk across the street.

Are the refillable mugs the new ones that they are going to be using in all the resorts or are they the ones that say Coronado Springs on them? I was hoping to get the Coronado Springs mugs. Linda

Glad to hear you had a great trip! We can't wait to go back to CSR!

The only refillable mugs we saw were the ones with the Coronado Springs logo.

CSR has two sizes, a regular size for $11.99 and a 64oz size mug for $19.95. Pics on my website below.

During our recent stay at CSR, we only saw one size refillable mug-the "regular" size. In fact, we looked for the larger mug for our son in the PM, the gift shop and the little "food shop" outside the PM yet all that was available at each spot was the "regular" size.

Did you have any problems with the AC in the room turning off when you were out of the room or sleeping at night? Did you ever return to a hot room or wake up in the middle of the night to no AC, due to the sensors?

Here are instructions for the AC bypass.

On the thermostat, push the power button and the down arrow (button that adjusts the temp) at the exact same time. If you do this correctly, you will see the letters "bp" where the temp normally shows. You are now bypassing the sensors in the room. You can then set the temp to whatever you want and it keeps the room that cold whether you are in it or not. You might have to do this once a day as the thermostat tends to go back to sensor mode after 24 hours. We found that it stayed on bypass for a couple of days at a time. It was great to come back to a cold room or not wake up in the middle of the night in a sweat again.

Although our room at the POP last year always seemed too warm or too cold, our room at CSR always seemed "just right." Having a ceiling fan was nice, too. :upsidedow

So happy to hear that you had a wonderful time at CSR. I have been to disney, what seems like a million times and have never stayed at CSR. I am so excited from reading this thread and can't wait to get to CSR this October. I think 77 days away and counting:cool1:  :hourglass

Ooooh! I just thought of another question for you:
Any towel animals during your stay?

Hi again, famsen! :wave2: No towel animals for us. But that's ok-there's always "next time." ;)

We don't really mind if we get towel animals or not since we don't have small children. It's always fun to see all the different towel animals other people get when they pose them in their windows.

Thanks for your great responses! :yay:
