I've been reading all the posts with great interest because yesterday my mom and I upgraded our resort for our September stay from POP to CSR. We are very excited!
I was wondering about the CMs at the Pepper Market who kept asking people if they were on the dining plan. (We are on the dining plan.) What if, when asked this question, I simply said, "No, we are not on the dining plan." It seems to me that since you don't pay the server and you don't pay until you exit, that the server doesn't really need to know whether you are on the dining plan or not. It seems to me that the servers are just asking this to determine what level of service they want to put forth. To me, this is disgusting behavior! (Poor service is my #1 pet peeve!) I don't see what the big deal is anyway; isn't PM the only food court where they automatically add in a 10% gratuity anyway? If the server is going to get a tip regardless, then what does it matter if I am on the dining plan? Anyway, what are your thoughts on just telling servers like these that you are not on the dining plan, then presenting your dining plan card to the CM at checkout?
