We just returned from our first DVC trip and fell instantly in love with BLT.

I read a lot of trip reports and looked for some specific things while we were there. This is my abbreviated version:

Magical Express: Excellent. So, so convenient.

Check in: Super easy--our person helped us upgrade tickets, add on guests to our ressie, did lots of last minute decision stuff.

The walkway: Windy and the doors weigh a ton. We mostly walked between the two buildings on ground level.

Garden Grocer: Excellent and reasonable although a little slow being delivered from the Contemporary to our villa.

Cleanliness: A+. Plus, they switched out our towels and removed trash on day 3.

View: Our 8th floor LV was a B-. I don't really like looking directly into dozens of other villas. They probably don't like looking at me either, I know.

The gap in the bathroom door: Clearly *pun* an oversight. Somewhat distrurbing for the teenage girls who were assigned that as their bathroom.

Size of the villa: A teeny bit smaller than I hoped for but gorgeous to make up for it. The laundry room was set up awkwardly.

Shower: Lovedddddd it! The master bath was too dim though. Need better lighting for hair and makeup. Three bathrooms in a 2BR was great.

Bed/Pillows: A+ I slept like a baby. I usually don't at hotels.

Thermostat: No problem there.

Balcony: I didn't see even one bug--dead or alive.

Lounge: Loved it. Monday Night Football. Go Steelers!

Pool: B-. Kind of boring. Not too much creativity there.

Convenience: Loved being on the monoraid to MK and Epcot. I dislike the busses although they were timely enough not to complain.

Thoughts for next time: LV is good enough. Not planning to spend more points on MK view. Chef Mickey's is overrated. Bring raincoats. Bring Purex laundry sheets again--they were wonderful. Don't store eggs on the top shelf of the refrigerator--they'll freeze, yuk. And finally... must stay LONGER!!!!!!!

WARNING: If you use the resort airline check in--be sure they give you ALL your boarding passes. They ALMOST messed us up--big time. Good thing I audited their work before we boarded the M.EX.

Thanks so much for the review! We'll be there in January and can't wait!:goodvibes

You covered most everything except the TURKEY BUZZARDS! :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Did you see any?

Seriously, glad to hear you enjoyed your stay. :)

Excellent overview! Thank you for taking the time to post the highlights.

I do have one exception to your post, however:

...Monday Night Football. Go Steelers!

As a person living in Colorado, I have to say; how dare your team further ruin the Bronco's hard fought mostly sterling record to that point! :furious:  Do you know that the Steelers victory means the Broncos need to work that much harder? :stir: For shame. :offtopic: :sad2:

I have great respect for all things Colorado. I wish your team all the best!

thanks for posting your review! I just booked our room for May 2010. We can't wait! :cool1::cool1::cool1:

Thanks for your report. We leave tomorrow morning for one week in a 2bdr LV at BLT. I've seen some less than complimentary reports so this is nice to hear the day before we go!!:cool1:

I'd like to hear what you think of BLT. I've read some pretty tough criticism of it, too. I guess it rocks some people and turns some off. Depends on what you're looking for. It so happens that I like the tight security and private pool.

Makes me feel special.:thumbsup2

We love it too! Next time request an even numbered room and you will not be looking across into another room.

Geez- we were up there at TOWL on Monday night, too- the place was CRAZY with Steelers fans!!! Looked like you were all enjoying yourselves! :goodvibes Loved BLT, too! Hope to go back soon!:thumbsup2

Will do, my friend!

We had tons of dead and semi dead bugs on our balconey this past week, figured they must have sprayed. Love the security and the resort DH wants to sell our OKW to get points at BLT!!! What are turkey buzzards??

Hmmm, what floor were you on? I wonder if that makes a difference?

Or.... maybe housekeeping is supposed to sweep them up and they didn't?

We were in a standard one bedroom on the ground floor. We loved the place. Our only complaint was opening the curtains in the morning to see people playing bocce ball a few feet away when I'm still in my PJ's.

There was also hundreds of dead bugs in the lobby each morning and night. We saw a guy vacuming them up one morning. He told us the wind blows them in from the water at night. I learned not to walk barefoot in the lobby to go the comunity hall. Other then that we loved our visit.

I love my Boardwalk but that extra bathroom was wonderful..... the living room seemed so much larger at BLT then the Boardwalk. Can't decide where to stay next Nov Boardwalk or BLT with my new grandbaby.

Glad to hear you enjoyed it! We were also there during the same time and LOVED it too! I also discovered the laundry sheets before our trip and brought them with us, great find!

DITTO!!!!

So that's what they were

DH and I just got back from a 3 night stay in a studio BLV.
We were really pleasantly surprised,
We Loved the Lounge, the walkway back from the Magic Kingdom, and sitting on the balcony watching the water pageant. For us it was a full circle stay.
On our first trip to WDW we stayed at the Contemporary in the tower with a view of the Castle and our kids were just 4 and 6 at the time, that was 24 yrs ago

Thanks for the Great TR :thumbsup2
