The slide for SAB is being refurbished. They started on it 1/3/03. The rest of the pool is open. They are allowing YC and BC guests to go to the Boardwalk and swim there if they want a slide.

Christmas decoration were coming down as we left on the 7th. It's amazing to see poinsettias planted one day, and marigolds the next.

The weather was a bit on the cool side for some days, but other days we were in shirt sleeves.

Any specific questions? I'd be happy to answer.

How did you like the BCV? What room were you? What kind of view? I love the BCV!

We've just become DVC owners at BCV and will take a nice long trip this June. What type of room did you have? What did you like the best/the least? As this will be the first time we'll be there, sharing your experience will be helpful to us! Thanks

I took a photo of the groundskeepers planting the poinsettias at the Beach Club Villas at the beginning of December. I looked over on the DIScon board, but apparently I didn't think that it was an interesting enough photo to post. Here is the view from my room (460) at BCV:

This was actually my second stay at the BCV, both times in a studio. I was there with my family on July 1st at the grand opening of the resort. I've got a few photos of the ribbon cutting along with a videotape that I took that day.

I took quite a few picture of the alligator that lives in the canal behind the resort. If you check out the following thread, you'll see my fuzzy photos.

I have thoroughly enjoyed my two trips to BCV. It's less than a five minute walk to Epcot. And I love the Boardwalk area. Too bad my wife prefers our home resort (OKW).

Great pic, Towncrier. I was surprised that they poinsettias were planted in there pots, straight in the ground. I guess that makes it easier to take out. We were in 440, just across the hall from where you were. If you leaned real good, you could catch Illuminations.

We were in a studio. It has one queen bed and a pullout couch. That room works great for us. Usually it's just Stephen and me, but this time we took the girls (20 and 21). As long as we made up the couch each day, we had plenty of room. If we take them again, we may get a one bedroom, but for now, the studio is what we like.

I love the free laundry. It really makes doing a load or two every few days nice. I forgot laundry detergent, but it is only $1 a box. There was usually at least one washer free.

I love not having daily maid service too. On the days we wanted to take it slow, we didn't have to worry about interruptions. The day the maid came, she did a great job, and even gave us extra towels.

Our room was centrally located between the quiet pool and the main lobby. We used both elevators.

We also used our Tubbi's 20% discount for a few breakfasts. I like eating there. I get the child's plate. With the discount it's less than $3, and it's plenty of food. All four of us for breakfast was less than $20. Convenient, hot, cheap food is always good.

I can't think of anything I didn't like except that we were only there a week.

We were there in October and the view was Epcot & WS. Of all the times we've been to WDW we never heard of Tubbi's. We are going down again 2/28/03 with my SIL and my brother calls her Tubby. This would be great. Where is it and what types of food?

Thanks,

Tubbi's is a "buffeteria" in the Dophin. It serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, and, I think, open 24 hours. You walk through a cafeteria type line, order your food, and your plate is made in front of you. For breakfast there are biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, you know, all the regulars. You can even get cold cereal. For lunch there's hamburgers and hot dogs and lunch stuff. I've never eaten dinner there but I think you can get chicken fried steak and burgers. I'm sure Deb Will's site will have a menu. We really like it.

I just learned that the 24 hour Tubbies is also has convenient store items like cough drops, suntain lotion, etc. Nice to know that a 24 hour option like that exsists within walking distance.

Thanks for the tip on the 20% discount, I didn't realize that. Is that for DVC members or AP members?

It's for DVC members. I didn't pick up a new 2003 AP sleeve to see what's available there, sorry.
