My DH & myself left for our honeymoon/Disneymoon bright and early on 9/12 for a 13 day/12 night stay at the Poly using DVC points from David's. I gotta say I would highly recommend them! Everything went smooth and their customer service is superb. We're doing a family trip in May and we will be using David’s again. ::yes::

This was our first trip using Garden Grocer and I wouldn’t hesitate to use them again. I placed an order online about 2-3 weeks before our arrival and within 5 minutes of submitting the request I received a phone call from their customer service confirming everything and asking if we had any special requests and if we needed to amend the order to give them a call. We ordered a few breakfast items and it was nice to have a quick bite while getting ready on the days we didn’t have a breakfast reservation or wanted to grab something in the park.

I’ve gone to Disney a handful of times and one thing I noticed this trip was a majority of the cast members attitudes towards guests and working at WDW. While poking around in a store I overheard an entire conversation between two cast members stating they couldn’t wait for MSEP to leave the park and guests who state Paint the Night could possibly come to WDW know nothing. It wasn’t posted on their Hub so therefore they shouldn’t be talking about things they know nothing about.. Of course PTN coming is a rumor floating around, we really don’t know what may come or may not come with MSEP leaving. But the tone of their voices was of pure disgust. Then one girl proceeded to say since MSEP is leaving that means another CM who is a performer will most likely be leaving and that made her happy. I ended up putting down what I had in my hand and leaving the store.

Then throughout the rest of our stay I saw many CM on their cell phones, becoming annoyed when their personal conversations were interrupted because a customer came up to make a purchase, overheard a lot of inappropriate conversations (things that happened over the weekend), when asked to see their pins being completely uninterested and almost forced to have to participate. Honestly, a lot of the people I encountered just seemed miserable. Also a lot of the CMs I encountered were younger so I’m not sure if they are in the CP or not, I don’t want to make any assumptions. But I was just disappointed and felt like a nuisance whenever I had to interact with them. Has anyone else felt this way? I certainly don’t remember it being this noticeable when I went twice in 2014.

Since I’m sure this will be asked – no I did not go to Guest Services to report this. Why? I was on my honeymoon and taking our first vacation in 2 years with my husband. We just planned our entire wedding over the course of 2 years and did most of it ourselves. I just wanted to focus on our time together. It was much needed. Maybe I’ll write something and send it over to their customer service now that I’m home. :confused3

But with the handful of bad experiences I had a lot of wonderful ones as well! My DH & myself did the Wild Africa Trek and our guides were Jess and Danielle and they were amazing. So knowledgeable, funny, and dedicated to their jobs. It really showed throughout the 3 hours we spent with them. I just looked over the pictures they took – approx 150 of our group of 10! And they’re all amazing. If anyone was looking for a fun tour to try out I would give this a 10 out of 10, hands down.

The crowds were bearable and I felt Touring Plans crowd prediction was spot on. The only day that it felt packed was the day we left and that was a Saturday so completely understandable. It’s been awhile since I went in September and it seemed to be a time where a lot of out of country guests were visiting. I saw a few tour groups. When we went to see Indiana Jones one day they had a guest from the crowd on stage as an extra and when he said he was from Argentina the stadium when nuts. I mean absolutely cheering for a solid minute. He must have felt like a rock star! :cool2:

We went to MNSSHP on the 18th and 2 hours in it started pouring and there were bolts of lightning very close. We didn’t get to see Hallowishes, the parade, or the Villains show (too busy trick or treating, hahah ). As we left we stopped at the guest services since we saw a lot of people gathered around the steps and we were given a rain check to come back one of the party days during our stay. We picked Friday the 23rd and we were able to see the 3 things we missed, go on a few rides, and leave. I wasn’t expecting anything for the rained out party but greatly appreciated the option we were given to come back and enjoy it again – rain free!

Almost every meal we had was wonderful – just to name a few Boathouse and Yak & Yeti TS were our favorites. I would skip BOG dinner, lunch seems to be our favorite. First timers at F&W and we want to do it again! So thankful to DisBoards for the QS water tip. It came in handy and our Hydro Flask made the ice cubes in our water last for hours – which was refreshing in the 90+ degree sun. :disrocks:

And last but not least I am slow to jump on the SOTMK bandwagon but I have to say I love the game! My DH is surprisingly really into it. It’s fun to enjoy the “little” things Disney does since these kinds of details can be easily overlooked with the hustle and bustle. Since we were on the monorail we even went through bag check and security just to go to the fire station to get our daily pack of cards and then leave to go to our destination for the day. And that wasn’t even my idea, it was my DH! So needless to say in May we will be continuing to try and complete our deck and visit many more portals. :wizard:

That sounds like so much fun!! I'm glad you took the time to tell us all about your experiences. And may you both have many, many happy years together!

Congratulations! Sorry about your experience with CM's, but I'm glad you did not let it ruin your trip. Sounds like you had a great time!
