Title says it all. Just returned from a 3-night on the Disney Dream and was wondering if you had any questions about the cruise or the embarkation day procedure? Or disembarkation.

I drove to the port myself, so I don't have experience if you arrive by DCL bus. I'm also a first time cruiser so I don't have prior sailings to compare this to. And I was a single cruiser so I don't know anything about the kids or teen activities.

I also got to meet Pete and BigFatPanda.

How fun to go solo! I’ve always wanted to, when I started planning my april 2022 trip last year my hubby thought it sounded so cool, he wanted to come so now it’s an anniversary cruise ❤️😁. Still on my bucket list to cruise solo. If you make a trip report, I’d like to read it. I dont have any particular questions . I want to know everything 😂😂

Were you able to keep your luggage with you until after Covid testing in the garage? We're also driving in and hoping to drop the big bags with the porters only after we clear testing. I feel like I've seen mixed reports of folks being able to do that.

Any idea of how many passengers were denied boarding because of Covid positives at the port? How full was the ship in general?

We are driving to the port also and parking a car in the garage. Do they scan your QR code when you arrive in the parking garage and do COVID testing in the parking garage? Or do you leave the garage with all your things to go to the COVID testing tents?

So I followed the arrows to turn in to the Disney area and it led straight to the luggage drop off area. I didn't see anyone bypassing that and I didn't see anyone walking with luggage after they got the all clear from safe passage.

Did you enjoy the cruise? Recommend it to others? I’d love to hear a first timer’s perspective. Thanks.

I heard from a crew member that they expected 1300 and only 1100 boarded, so I don't know how many of the 200 canceled or tested positive.
And the ship, from what I'm told, holds 4000 passengers, so that comes out to 27.5% capacity.

So, you arrive to the Disney area and the first stop is luggage drop off. Then you get back in your car and drive to the end of the parking garage and turn left. Then you pull up to the first tent and pay for parking. Then you follow the cones around to the second tent where you are given a zip lock with a vial, sticker label, and a pen. (free pen!)
Then you go to the 3rd tent at the entrance to the parking garage and that's when they first scan your port arrival form QR code. From there you are directed to pull into the next available testing site. The person scans your QR code and directs you through the testing process that you do in your car. Very simple, very easy. They collect the sample and place it in a collection bag and then into a cooler. Then they signal for a supervisor who comes over, scans your QR code again, and directs you to follow the cones to the ramp of the parking garage to park wherever you'd like on floors 2-6 and wait in your car for your results from safe passage.

Hope that helps!

You'd have the whole bed to yourself if you go solo. And no one will know if you get two of the free ice cream cones that they're both for yourself. :rotfl:
(I recommend the banana!)

Did they only have one dinner time, as some others have reported?
If this was the sailing that ended this Monday it wasn't that there was only one seating, it was that they were only operating two of the three restaurants each night. So if you're used to ordering "off menu" and getting something from a restaurant other than the one you are dining in, you better hope it's the other one that's running!

how was the weather?

Funny you should ask. For the most part, it was beautiful! Occasionally we'd sail through spots of rain. (during the day and also at night) However, on the last night we hit some rough seas around dinner, causing some people to become seasick. My strategy was to walk along the hallway with a hand gliding against the handrail just in case. It was an interesting journey from the front of the ship back to Animator's Palate.

I personally was okay but I still took a Dramamine just to be safe.
