Let me start with the positives.
Happy to answer any questions (flame suit on).
- The "bones" of the resort itself are lovely and is in a fantastic location.
- Stormalong Bay is a fantastic pool, and my daughter had alot of fun there. Also appreciated the very large number of lifeguards that were on duty.
- Beaches & Cream - yes please.
- All of the staff we encountered (except for a grumpy waitress at Cape May) were very friendly and eager to help.
- The refurb can't come soon enough. The common areas and our room were looking every bit their age, with worn out furnishings and dirty carpets.
- Our bathroom was in pretty bad shape. The tub would not stop running 24/7, no matter how hard we tried to shut the water off. The grout was quite mildewy (not sure that's even a word), and the ceiling fan was rusted and hadn't seen a dust cloth in years.
- And this is more of a nit than a complaint, but staffing levels at Stormalong Bay (other than lifeguards, as noted above) needed to be much higher. On multiple occasions last week we had servers drop off menus at our loungers, with the promise that they would be "back in just a minute" and 45 minutes later, we ended up walking up and ordering our own food and drinks (hello first world problems), meaning that they ended up missing out on tips from us and (I assume) others. Not the servers fault, as there appeared to only be 2-3 of them working on days where every single chair and lounger were being used - it's Easter week BCV, you're going to be busy...
