Totally thrilled - all my checking and obessing has paid off - I think. Just called to check for price decrease and room 5024 was available!!! Hooray!!! The kids will be surprised!!!

We will be in secret porthole room 5520 in 11 wks! When I first reserved on Dec 31st I couldnt get a spr. However, I called back a few months ago and we got lucky. (Thanks Michelle)
We moved from deck 2 to deck 5 - this will be easier for DS10 checking himself in & out of the lab.

We currently have 3 secret porthole rooms for our "suprise" cruise 3/2/2003....I can't wait....Didn't even know about them until I booked and Cathy emailed me that i had 3 port hole rooms....I was phsyced once I realized what a great deal it was....:bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

We were in 5520 on our three-peat. My soon to be posted trip report will contain full details, but here are some quick impressions:
Very little obstruction. I loved peeking out the window with my binoculars and enjoyed the sunshine and being able to do a quick weather assessment every morning.
Very comvenient location. Just a few steps away from the forward elevators, which were never crowded. Right above the clubs & theater and a few decks below the spa, so we were never too far from the fun.
No noise from crew area across the hall, but we had the Roverdance Sumo Squad overhead and the Olympic Sprint Team in the hall. This room usually gets quite a bit of hallway traffic anyway, since it is at the head of the hall, but this was more than usual. Of course, the potential for noisy neighbors is different on every trip.
Overall, the "free" view is great and makes this stateroom very worthwhile.

We have 5522 booked for our next cruise, thanks to a quick peek in Barb & Tony's cabin on their 3-peat.

Woven...thanks for the extra pictures. Along with Barbs...we can
now invision the whole cabin.

Thanks again....
Phyllis

I just booked 5020 today for our Western Cruise in November 2003. I am SO excited!!!!

Only 405 more days!! :p

We have 5522 and 5524 -- connecting secret porthole staterooms -- booked for our 2004 cruise. It will just be four of us: my wife, myself, and our daughters who will be 12 and 14 by then.

It will be somewhat like having a suite, but we're not paying much more than if we had gotten a Category 6 stateroom as we did last time. We'll have twice the square footage, twice the closet and storage space, and twice the bathroom capacity. Of course, we won't have a verandah or the glorious unobstruted view that we had last time.

Congratulations. The rooms were all booked when we made our reservations for July 19 '03, but I always get a thrill when I read about a DISer having better luck and getting a secret porthole room!

We have 5520 booked for a 4-day on the Wonder. Can't wait!! Cool to see that Barb and Tony were there on your three-peat.. Sounds really great, especially for us with DS in the kids programs... Hoping that we won't get quite as much hallway noise as mentioned.... Sounds like the groups that happened to be there were the biggest cause!!! There are fewer staterooms in this section than many others onboard!

Only thing that could coax me away from this room is a free upgrade, several levels, to a nice room with a verandah!!

We are going to be booking another cruise soon (our 2nd). I was wondering, under what category do you book the secret porthole rooms? Last cruise we were cat 9 (deck 2) oceanview and loved it. I thought since my dd is older, being on deck 5 would be better for her with the kids clubs right there.

Also, do you do better with AAA or Dreams Unlimited? I also belong to the Disney Club. As you can tell by my questions, I am just begining research for this.

Thanks for all your help
