Here is the e-mail I received:

Thank you for your email with reference to Priority Seating reservations at the
WALT DISNEY WORLD® Resort. Effective August 4, 2003, bookings for all Walt
Disney World® Resort dining locations that offer priority seating times will be
available 90 days in advance, with the following exceptions:

Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Review can be confirmed 2 years out
Disney's Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show can be confirmed 2 years out
Bistro de Paris can be confirmed 30 days out
Lunch with a Disney Artist can be confirmed 30 days out
Victoria and Albert's Chef's Table can be confirmed 180 days out
Mickey's Backyard Barbecue can be confirmed based on availability

This change will result in a more easily understood process for our guests, with
a consistent policy for our dining locations that accept priority seating,
except for locations with unique situations. The new policy will be in effect
for all WDW Resort guests, including Disney Vacation Club Members. As always,
we will continue to evaluate enhancements to these policies to best serve the
needs of our guests.

Isn't it interesting that they specifically mention DVC members? I wonder if it was our uproar that prompted this change???

I was just about to cut and paste my email too!

I like how they even mention DVC in the email!!!

My email is exactly the same so it's a generic email to the masses.

It's great news!

fyi...I sent mine to DVC and to Disney World...

OK, dumb question here:

It says "The new policy will be in effect
for all WDW Resort guests, including Disney Vacation Club Members"....

By WDW Resort guests, does that mean the generic person who is visiting the Walt Disney World resort? Or does it mean those who are staying at WDW resorts (hotels)?

I guess what I'm asking is, WILL there be a different policy for guests of WDW who are staying off-property?

I noticed that too but maybe they just worded it wrong? Time will tell.

I got the email signed by Jackie Lueders and it was in response to an email that I sent to DVC so I wasn't surprised. I wonder if there is another email that is going out to people who complained via the generic guest services email address?

Does anyone know what WDW resort guest means? does that mean someone who is staying onsite or basically anyone who visits WDW?

Lisa

I got one, too. Mine was also signed from Jackie Lueders. I sent my complaint to only the members@disneyvactionclub email.

This E-mail is from Jackie at DVC, that is why it specifically mentions DVC. I also received it. I have not gotten anything from Guest Communications yet.

I also wonder if by Resort guest they mean on-site or just WDW Resort Guests?

Thanks to those that wrote to Disney about the change in the PS policy.
It is nice to see that WDW did understand the complaints and change the policy to be fair to all resort guests as well as the DVC members.

I'm a little slow here today. (MIL has been staying with us for an entire week  )

Does this mean that people who book with WDTC (the travel company, whatever it's called) DON'T get to book at 180 days out? (That's good, but I'm just clarifying!)

Julie

I e-mailed the regular guest relations department, but in the message inquired as a DVC member how would the policy effect me. I received the same message everyone else did - from the same person so I don't expect you'll receive anything different from any other addressed you try, unless they have specific people assigned to answer from various perspectives - I doubt they would do that though, it seems that would just take a lot of extra time.

Since the e-mail says WDW resort guest, I would take it to mean anyone staying at a WDW resort, thus on-site. My questions is, how does this affect the Swan and Dolphin as well as those properties on Hotel Plaza?

Does this mean that only those with confirmed reservations would be able to make PS arrangements?
Sandie

Don't want to gripe, but our concern was how it would effect DVC members. We have our answer. What difference does it make who is a Disney Resort Guest and who isn't?

Interesting that you got replies because i sent an email to guest relations and have yet to receive a reply. I guess I'm just happy that they changed the policy but I would have preferred that they just extended the 180 days to DVC members or went back to the 120 day policy
