Just received a "live call" from the Magic 8-16-03

Sarah (Maleficent59) just called me "Live From The Magic!!!" She reported that she was first in line and that Buckaroo's Dad was right behind her in line. Sarah said that she and BD spoke for about 1 and 1/2 hours while waiting to board the ship. Sarah also said that BD, was a lot quieter than she had expected him to be, and that he is a very nice guy, but heck, we knew that already.

It was really neat hearing someone calling live from the ship like that. We did have a little connection trouble. Sarah was calling from her cell phone to my cell phone. I was supposed to be at my family reunion today, but we got rained out, so I'm home working on a few last minute details getting ready for our cruise next Saturday. I love saying those words, "Our cruise, next Saturday."

My DW is out with my Dmom, Dsis, and Dniece doing some last minute Dshopping!!! My DD is on her way to Ocean City, NJ for five days with her friend's family. DD will come home Thursday afternoon, then we fly to MCO Friday afternoon.

Sarah might be calling back when they go back on top deck, before the sail away party. Hold on a second, my phone is ringing.

Well, I didn't have to wait very long, Sarah just called back and put Buckaroo's Dad on the phone, it was so great talking with him, I'm so pumped now, I don't think I'm going to ba able to sleep tonight!!! BD said, that he and his mom and son, will be coming to meet us at the Radisson next Saturday morning, before we leave for the ship. That is going to be AWESOME!!!

What a Saturday I am having!!!

Hi Sarah. Wishing you a Magical cruise this week. Have fun for me.I am not too surprised that BD is a quiet man. Many people can say more via the net than in person. Tell him Incharge said hi. I wish everyone a beautiful voyage! The weather looks good today at the port. Next week I will be stuck at this computer looking for any info on you, Andy, and your cruise. I will be tickled pink because I KNOW you will be in 7th heaven all this week, and especially when you get to the ship. Are you going to go online? I don't know where you will have the time, as popular as you are! I wouldn't even be a bit surprised if the captain already knows about his "co-captain" or "other" captain. Wouldn't that be a riot if he tells you that he has heard about you???? I will be ROTFLMBO if that happens.

Jason (Three Circles) suggested that when I get my photo taken with the "Real" ship's captain, that I should have my "Captain Verandah" hat on!!! What a hoot, that would be!!!

BD said he wasn't sure if he was going to make it on the cruise. Because of the blackout, he had to drive 16 hours to Greensboro, North Carolina got 2 and 1/2 hours sleep at the Marriott, then caught a plane to MCO, and was still second in line to board the ship.

If I hear anymore from the ship, I will post it here.

As far as the internet goes on the ship: I kind of promised myself and my family, that I would do my best to stay away from the "Internet Cafe." Do you have any idea how hard that is going to be for me, especially since we will be having our DISmeet at the Promenade Lounge Saturday afternoon??? LOL!!!

DD just called from the Jersey Shore, they arrived safely, but reported that it is raining there as well. DW called a few minutes earlier and said they had just arrived at my sister's house (Atlantic City, NJ), and are headed to the STORES!!!

Sarah called once more, their DISmeet had just ended with a group photo, and everyong was heading upstairs for the sailaway party and to hear the ship's horn. Getting ready myself to go to the Two Palms site and catch a couple shots of the Magic going past.

Hehehehe.....DH thinks I'm nuts! And when I yelled "THERE IT IS!" when it first appeared on the twopalms site, my DS12 came running in here, I had to chase him out, the cruise is still a surprise!!!!!

Of course we know BD is a great guy...he's probably exhausted from that 16 hour drive....

Andy, Angelina is quite busy this week huh?? It's just plain hot up here now... but I hear the thunder starting, hopefully it will only rain alittle tonight enough to water the lawn & flowers... and put some more water back in my pool!!!

That's O.K., I'm the only one in the house, and I'm saying, "There she is, There's the Magic!!!" I capturing shots as it is going past the two palms cam and waving to everyone on the ship, and yes, I even have my "Captain Verandah" hat on!!!

I think the men in the white jackets are knocking at my front door right now. I'm so pumped, receiving 4 "LIVE" phone calls from the ship today, it is going to take me forever to calm down, my heart is pumping so fast, I feel like I'm speed or something!!!

If I can get this right(there was a lot of background noise), when Sarah called at the end of the DISmeet, I spoke with Linda (Linda1), and with another Linda(Hannosmom), then a few minutes later from up top, I got to speak with Travis (DisneyMagicTravis) as the ship was heading up the channel. The only thing that will top today, is when I'm on the Magic next Saturday, waving to the two palms cam, on the other side of the computer!!!

Got to go calm down and get a bite to eat, I think!!!

Thanks so much for the update. I wondered if BD would have to jump in his vehicle and hit the road. This morning I had to drop my daughters off at MCO (DD Meagan is moving into her dorm at Western Colorado State next week and DD Erin accompanied her for a week of moral support). On my way to work in Melbourne, I drove by the Port and waved to our beloved Magic, wondered which of our fellow Dis-ers were anxiously awaiting to board after a night's "sleep" at the Radisson....It is very surreal to me to have the opportunity to drive by the DCL ships whenever I need to. Until recently I would have to fly in from Denver once a year or so to get my Disney fix. Now, I am spoiled beyond belief.
Have a wonderful and well deserved cruise. I still haven't made it to Dixie Crossroads (have only lived in this area for three weeks now), but think of you when the commercials run on tv!

VM, you are too funny!

I know my DH is happy to be going on our cruise, but I can't ever picture him being as open as you!

He doesn't know what he's missing! He needs to take a lesson and Let Loose, Baby!!!

My problem is, I tend to "Let Loose" too much at times, but hey, you only go around once, right??? LOL!!!

Life is stressful enough as it is, when it comes time for vacation, I want to enjoy it to the fullest!!!

Verandah Man - Ahhh, I am jealous. Your daughter is going to OC. Would you believe we have a condo there and I haven't seen it since June!! Work schedules and such. Only the daughters have managed to use it! Hope she has good weather! I am not surprised Buckaroo's Dad is quieter then expected. I can open up on these boards, but in person I tend to be much quieter. I'm glad that he was able to get to Florida. I am waiting tonight for my DH and DD to get home from Orlando. They've already been delayed a few times today. I think we are looking at around midnight possibly now for them to get into Newark. Well next weekend, OC, Island Grill, Annie's pretzels, Johnson's popcorn and all will be ok again. Only 9 months to go for our cruise!! Heck, if I could wait for a baby that long, I should be able to wait for the cruise!! NOT!!

We have been waiting nine months for our cruise, and we said the same thing, this was like waiting for a birth to happen!!!

DD said it was raining in OC when they got there this afternoon. I sure do hope they have some nice beach days this week.
