Ok guys, I need some ideas on something special to do for DH 40th birthday! I knew it was his b-day(july 12)but just realized that it will be his 40th.:scared1: We leave on the 12th and return on the 19th. We have been to WDW many times. We have two DS's (14&11).

I was looking for something that all of us could do or something special to surprise him with.:thumbsup2

thanks for any help.

First thing, get a birthday button at Guest Services in any of the parks or at DTD. Got one for my DBF this past trip and it was great - everyone wishing him a Happy Birthday and a few surprises thrown in.

Another thing I've done in past years is an Illuminations Cruise. Had my family and 3 DIS couples join us to offset the cost.

Does he have a favorite restaurant? Favorite park or ride?

That's all I can think of right now but I'm sure others will have many more suggestions!

get on over to the creative Disigns & see if they can do a design for you & pop it on a tshirt

also go to the cake thread & order a cake at one of your ADRs

inform them when you check in & get the buttons

heres a cake i got my neice for her bday at CR

I heard that they are not doing it for free anymore, but the Coral Reef will have a diver hold up sign saying Happy Brithday. You could call and ask them about that and maybe order a cake as well.

What is his favorite thing to do at Disney? Maybe you could do something around that. Example: My dad is a huge Disney Quest fan and loves the games that you have to pay for, so we would go early and fill a small bag with tokens for him.

We did a surprise scavenger hunt at MK that took about 3 hours. Check out Jane's website at gifts of a lifetime (but with no spaces) and see all of the surprise things they can do. We did this for DIL and had a blast. Even though DH and I knew ahead about it, it was still fun for us and the ones who were not in on the surprise ahead of time loved it even more.

I keep trying to figure out someone else to invite on a future trip that wasn't with us on that one so that I could do one again.

There are so many things that you could do. You could order a basket and have it in the room when you arrive. A tour at one of the parks. A carriage ride. The Richard Petty Driving experience (or a drive along for him), Dinner at a favorite restaurant. Upgrade your resort to a nicer level or maybe concierge.

Actually I scheduled a diver for our Feb trip and it is totally free. They said it was part of disneys magic. YEAH!

Call the resort that you are staying at. Talk to a manager or consieair (sp?) They will have some ideas for you too. They can have balloons or something special waiting to greet him in your room.

That is great, we were told that it may change by the time we go in October. We are hoping to do this for my DW dad and her stepmom for their first anniversary. We actually want the sign to say something funny (Like Merry Christmas) at first and then the right sign.:cool1:

My DW suggested doing a tour at his favorite park.

On a friends 40th bday he was away on vacation and his wife had called everyone he knew and asked that they call his cell phone on his bday and sing him happy bday. We all did and by the time we called he had shut off his phone and later got a kick out of all the messages and calls. He later called and thanked us and told us how shocked he was t the number of friends that made the effort to call. Off the disney topic but fun anyway.
