the New York Times is reporting that prescription pills and a pipe has been found in the apartment.

He had spoken about his former drug problem but had been clean for many many years. He often worked with programs to help people get and stay sober.

It wouldn't surprise me to learn that the injuries sustained from the plane crash resulted in a dependency on prescription pain killers.

He was critically injured.

This is so very very sad.

I went to Perezhilton and he and Adam were friends. It says that he had been depressed over an ex girlfriend and it was mainly prescription drugs.

Depression is a horrible thing.

I am so very sad right now, he was very very talented. Such a shame.

I also feel for Travis Barker right now.

They said he was suffering from Post traumatic stress disorder from the plane crash on MSN, which could have led him back to using drugs.

It's a shame. I feel for his family and friends.

He also dated Mandy Moore for awhile after he and Nicole Ritchie had broken up.

I bet he was suffering from PTSD and/or depression. Very sad.

I just read this on the MSN home page and was deeply saddened.

They were saying that he had a reality show coming to MTV this fall where he helped people stage interventions for loved ones that were addicted to drugs. They are not sure if they will still run the show or not.

I meant to update this yesterday but I couldn't find the thread.

The death was ruled an accidental overdose.

I still feel bad for the guy. Here is an addict who worked so hard to get and stay sober and then undergoes a horrific plane crash, looses friends, and is prescribed highly addictive medications. I think Drs completely underestimate the effects that ever appropriately prescribed does of things like oxycontin due to addicts.

According to the toxicology reports he was on a mess of pain killers, anti-depressants, anti-aniexity drugs and sleeping pills.

The only illegal drug was cocaine. Dr Drew or someone like that said it is common for addicts to accidentally over dose upon relapse because they think they need the dose they needed when they quit.
