Just paid off our trip. Should we do online check in?

Ok the trip is totally paid,:cool1: I am thinking about doing the online check in. If we opt to do the online check in and then we have to cancel our trip, (heaven forbid) are we going to pay a huge cancellation fee?

Thanks!

You will most likely get various opinions on this.

If your room requests and any celebrations were noted when you made your reservation (you can call CRO to confirm them) there really is no point to on-line check-in. As with regular, old-fashioned check-in, your waiting time upon arrival at the resort may be shorter or may not, your room may be ready and it may not. Guests have experienced various degrees of both.

Our 60 day window is fast approaching :cool1: and

We will NOT be doing on-line check-in.

I would think the cancellation policy would still be the same. If you booked a package and cancel within 45 days of arrival, you would have the $200 penalty.

We have done the on-line check in several times. Even arriving at 11am our room has been ready (a pleasant surprise & not expected at all). We've also changed buildings, changed credit cards, etc.. when we get there so nothing is set in stone.

I have noticed (at least at All Star Music) that the "regular" check in area has several lines & are usually several people deep. The single line designated for online check in has a shorter wait.

Online check in does nothing to affect the cancellation policy. If you cancel more than 45 days before your arrival you will get all your money back. If you cancel 45 days or less from arrival you will get all your money back MINUS $200.

If you are within 45 days and you make any changes that reduce the cost of your package they charge you a $50 change fee.

Online check in just makes your check in process faster. We always do online check in and when we walk in, usually there is NOBODY in the online check in line but us, they have your packet already printed and waiting and it takes them less than 2 minutes to get me checked in and on my way.

If you are the type to never be satisfied with your room assignment and you KNOW you are probably going to try and get them to change your room then you might want to skip the online check in because it won't save you any time.

However if you have called in and noted your room preference in your reservation the room bookers that assign the rooms 3 or 4 days before you get there will try to get you what you are requesting if it is available.
