We went back and forth for 3 years and finally took the plunge OKW at$53 a point for 270 points seemed so low that we had to do it. Sent the check and paperwork in and we close in Feb. Whats next? Do we just get all the necessary paperwork from Disney now. Will all the paperwork explain everything to us. Use year, banking, borrowing, timeframes etc. All point charts, RCI info, cruise info etc. Booking info etc etc. I ahve alot of questions and I hope all the info will take care of everything or since we bought resale, we have to figure alot of this stuff out on our own

Congrats and welcome home! You got a great deal and OKW is fantastic. Our resale company sent us our documents along with our member number. You have to wait a few days to use it because it take DVC that long to input it. Your information from DVC comes a few weeks later - again it's about getting you in the system. You can make a rerservation before that. I'm sure your resale company will send you instructions after all the paperwork is done and check clears. You can look at all ears.net. I think they have point charts and other valuable information.

start here to get a handle on use year:

i would check out random threads on the DVC boards and do some searches on questions you might have to get a feel for things.

i'm pretty sure you'll get the planner that explains things more fully but it was easier for me to get up to speed by reading the DIS.

. . . . . Do we just get all the necessary paperwork from Disney now. . . . . .

Please remember, you have not purchased from Disney. All paperwork with respect to your purchase agreement will come to you, as stated well by nolanboys, from your resale company. Once in the system, you will receive periodic mailings from Disney pertaining to ownership as all owners receive. There will be no fanfare from Disney for your purchase.

Oh, by the way . . . Welcome Home! :cool1:

My DH and I closed back in October. Even after receiving the final paperwork from the resale company it did take awhile for our info to be in the system. I just called MS and they were very nice and looked it up for me. It got to be our 11 month booking window so I called that morning - not in the system... Called that afternoon - there we were! Was able to make my reservation. :)

The only items we've gotten from Disney were our Member Cards and a welcome home booklet with the 2010 & 2011 point charts. The booklet was pretty substantial and told a lot about the membership. However, I have found the Dis to be more useful in answering questions.

Yea Brian it passed rofr and then about 2 months went by and we got paperwork and did all the signatures and sent in the balance of payment. Now we go to close mid Feb. We got the points so cheap $53 a point because we get 45 points Oct 2011 and then 270 in Oct 2012. We waited about 3 years to actually decide to do this so waiting another year to actually get the points wasnt a big deal. The price was so good though and we go to the Caribbean a couple of times a year anyway

We just closed on our resale a couple of weeks ago . About 3 days after closing a called MS, we weren't in the system yet, called every day and on the 5th day we were in the system and they gave us our member ID #. I then booked our trip while I was on the phone with them. Paperwork is slowly coming in the mailbox, but at least we were able to book our vacation.

Hi and welcome to the club pixiedust:. We bought 210 pnts at OKW in Jan11 at $54 pp after 3 years deliberation. We used TTS and they were great. We were on the DVC system and had booked our next trip within 4 days of closing with TTS. We love OKW, but we only stayed there last May so we were keen to try another resort or two. With only 15 weeks before our vacation we thought the choise of resort would be very limited, but we were pleasantly surprised. We managed to get 6 days at AK Kidani Sav View, 3 days at BWV and 5 days at SSR. Wishing you many years of happiness with your DVC.

You did get a good price for the resale at OKW/ the beginning price we paid in 1993 was near your purchase price.....but obviously since it opened in 1992 it was "still a new thing". Welcome Home and enjoy the stays in days to come. Your planner guide from DVC will answer a lot of questions about the system. Good luck/ and many happy memories!

Can you tell me which broker/agent you used to purchase the DVC resale? We're very serious and want to get 'er all done by March 20!
