Just out of interest - response to praise for DVC

A few weeks ago, I wrote to DVC to compliment them on the way they had handled the re-instatement of points to those unfortunate enough to have their vacation plans affected by the hurricanes.

I had booked a Vero Beach room for a guest which could not be used because of the hurricane evacuation. I was pleased to find that, not only had the unused points been credited back to my account, but that my borrowed points had been returned to their original Use Year. Here's the e-mail 'conversation' that followed:

I just wanted to comment on how impressed I am with DVC's decision to refund points 'lost' due to the evacuation of Vero Beach Resort at the beginning of this month. I was even more impressed to find that my points had been returned to their original UY, since I had borrowed to make the reservation.
Well done, DVC! I would be grateful if you could ensure the Customer Feedback department sees a copy of my comments. I am sure many members are quick to give feedback when events may not have gone to their liking, so I'd like to contribute my positive remarks...


This is the reply I recieved:

Thank you for your email. I apologize for the delay in my response.
While I'm sorry we weren't be able to entertain you at Disney's Vero Beach Resort as you had planned, I'm glad one of our Vacation Advisors was able to assist you with canceling your
reservation and returning your points to the correct Use Year. We always aim to please our Members and your compliments are certainly appreciated.
I hope we will have the opportunity to entertain you soon!

Well said Hilary! We (the customer) are very quick to complain and very slow to compliment usually. It is good to see positive feedback shared :)
