Just out of curiousity pt 2 - grocery shopping

How often do you shop for groceries? About every week or so whenever the cabinets and fridge start looking bare!

Who does it in your house, one person, both? Only me! DH has no desire!

Do you shop for someone else too? Nope. Our family is enough.

Do you go to one store for everything, or do you go to several stores? Why? FArmer Jacks for the necessities. I go to a great local meat/fruit market for that stuff. I refuse to buy my meats at the grocery store!

How often do you shop? Once a month, week, day? I will go several times a week for meats. I like them fresh!

Do you go by a list, or do you just wing it? List...what list? I wing it. Maybe that is why my bill is so high!

I do our main grocery shopping myself, about once a week. I do find that I run to the store off and on during the week for extra things such as milk or fresh veggies, etc... Sometimes I'll pick up things for my FIL who has a hard time getting around some days due to the arthritis in his feet. I usually go to one store, but can't always find what I need there, so then it forces me to run around! LOL Don't really mind though, we've got about 6 different grocery stores in a 5 mile radius. Definately make a list and have my coupons in hand!

I do all the grocery shopping for my family although I will occassionally have my dh pick something up on his way home from work if I need it for dinner that night. I usually go by myself now too. That was strange for me because for years it was my dd Ashli and me doing it together. Then she went and grew up and I hate doing it alone. The little brat, lol.

I shop at two stores. I hit aldi's first but they aren't really a full range grocery store, there are common items that they don't carry so I also have to go to walmart for the rest of the groceries. This seems to be the cheapest route and that's why I bother with aldi's before going to a reg. grocery store.

I try to shop once every two weeks but I find myself stopping at the store pretty frequently for small items. I hate doing that because I know I spend more money that way but I change my mind too often about what I'm going to serve.

Sometimes I use a list but often I don't. I have the regular meals that my family likes to eat down pat in my head so I can usually wing it (knowing that if I forget something I can pick it up at one of my many stops during the week!)

* Sometimes different stores - I like the produce better in one, the meat better in another

* Both --- the mental list in my head -- I kind of plan the menus for the week mentally, and then get whatever to go with them, if need be

Do you shop for someone else too? Just for my household/family at the present time. I used to shop for my mother's house also.


Do you go to one store for everything, or do you go to several stores? Why? Usually just one store- unless on occasion I stop by the FNC for things I can only get there. I shop one store for convenience and saving time/energy.

Do you go by a list, or do you just wing it? I usually try to make a list of things I need so I don't forget and have to make a quick return trip.. but I also often shop without a list winging it.
