Just off the Dream with new mask policy

Thanks soo much for sharing your experience. Glad you had an amazing time! Did you know there was no pirate night before you left? I'm wondering if we will have it and not sure where to look?

We knew pirate parties weren’t happening, but we really weren’t sure since the mask policy changed on the 11th. Before we got on the ship, we had no idea about the policy change with the Oceaneer Club and they even updated the schedule to two shows while we were eating lunch. So, you never really know what will happen until you board 😁 Just look at the Navigator app to see what is happening around the ship!

Was the Skyline Lounge open regular hours now just not for beverage tasting classes?

I am not really sure the hours, but the did have a tasting session from 6pm-7pm. It’s possible it was open after that since nothing else was scheduled in there past 7.

According to reports online, they are separating the 3/4 kids from the vaccinated.
That is quite disheartening right there. I would feel awful dropping my 4 year old off if she happened to be the only 3/4 there at that specific time.

Exciting to see things moving back towards normal! We sail on the Dream June 3, 2022, so I am really hoping by then they will have the regular 3 shows back and the pirate night deck party. I think I saw where the Fantasy just got to have that? That would be so great.

I saw that too! On the WBPC post.

We just booked a last minute cruise on the Fantasy for next Saturday. I keep seeing different answers, but my one question is about the COVID test. Do we have to test 3 days before we board and then at the terminal, or just at the terminal? Even the CM on the phone was unsure.

So far just at the terminal. 3 days before and at the terminal is required for the under 5 unvaxxed kids.

Ages 5+ (vaccinated) only need to test at the terminal.
Anyone younger (unvaccinated) will test 24 hours to 3 days prior to arrival, and then again at the terminal with everyone else.

We learned reservations for Oceaneer Club were no longer required for 5 and up! Our kids could stay as long as they wanted and didn’t have to stay in groups. The Infinity room was open, but the game systems no longer work, so I imagine the room will be closed soon. My kids were really upset it wasn’t open, but they still had a blast! One counselor even remembered one of my boys from our cruise in 2019!!
I’d love to learn more about the Oceaneers Club! (Have never been on a cruise). Was there enough for them to do? Not sure what the infinity room is.
Also, did they limit how many people could be in the pools or were you able to access them freely? Thanks!!

They are still reservations for 3-4 year olds so I’m assuming the times are limited enough for them that would be unlikely. It stinks for people with kids under 5 but it must make it a lot easier for masking/contact tracing.

how about families with siblings that can’t play together

why contact trace only those under 5? I’m generally curious about the reasoning because anyone in close contact with someone who is positive for covid (vaccinated or not) could potentially carry the virus, right? I’m hoping things for the under 5 age change (along with some other things like pool limits) before we go on our cruise in October.

It doesn’t make a ton of sense but it is in line with CDC recommendations 🤷🏻‍♀️

some of this stuff seems so arbitrary.
It’s weird that they made masks optional in most situations but still don’t allow fish extenders for example and aren’t formally running the CC 5K both.

Make sure that you get a confirmation email within a day or two, though. I booked a placeholder back in September by filling out a card because the app didn't work, but then I never got the confirmation email. About a week later, I asked my travel agent if he got it and he also hadn't, so he called them up. The cast members had to call someone else to get information and basically redo the whole thing again. So, the cards didn't work, I guess.

How do you book a placeholder through the app? Can my husband and I each get 2 placeholders? We have 2 staterooms this cruise if that matters.

None of it has made sense for months most places.

There are a few places in the app that have a button to book a placeholder. You can certainly book two placeholders in the app, but each person can only have one. If you can't get the app to work, then just head to guest services.

Sounds good. I was just worried because The Know Before You Go section of the cruise is still stating that guests have to test beforehand, and my BF is nervous that if we don't they won't let us board. I'd rather just test at the terminal, but wanted to be 100% sure. Also, we still have to create an account on the Safe Passage site...correct?
