For me, I love looking at Christmas lights, and trees during the holiday season> I love when the first house in the neighborhood is lit up. I love going down the streets each night after Thanksgiving to see which new houses have their lights on..But also, to me, once its over, its over. I know its a matter of personal opinion.
To me, the Christmas lights lose their "magic" once Christmas is over

I work nights and I love seeing the lights on as I'm going to work and appreciate those that keep them on til late dawn so I can see them on my way home!

I really don't think it's anyone else's business how long someone turns on their Christmas lights. It's their house, if they like them on, why should anyone care?

We didn't put our lights up outdoors this year, DH just never had the time.

But our Christmas tree is still up. And lit!! I absolutely LOVE our Christmas tree and HATE taking it down and putting it away. I turn it on every day when I'm home, and every evening. I don't care if anyone driving by sees it and thinks it shouldn't be on. It's not their tree. It's not their house. I'll leave it up until I am good and ready to take it down.

Ah, the beauty of living in America! You can light your house any way you please and, if it pisses off the neighbors, you can always add more lights.

Today is January 15th. Even if you still have your outdoor Christmas lights still up - it is NOT OK to have them on.

It's waaay too cold here to be outside, so the lights stay up. I, for one, love the warmth of seeing Christmas lights up. If people want to, why not?

I moved my santa from outside to inside in an upstairs window. I also lit it all up. It is stay ALL YEAR. Thats what you get when you turn me into the boro for having it on my front porch!

DH and DD just took ours down today because it is 50 out and who knows the next time we'll have a nice day.

We have ours still up. Sometimes they get turned on simply because we don't want to come home to a dark house. Ours are up for a few reasons. It has been very cold here and we have a million lights up. There is no way my DH is going on the roof in high winds and freezing weather. Another reason is that we were waiting to have a belated Christmas celebration with relatives that we didn't get to see at the holidays.
I don't care if you like it or not. Close your eyes.
