Day 2, Saturday, 11/10
Up at 6:30 (not on purpose, just too excited to sleep!), out at 7:15. Stroll the grounds buy our mugs, check out the playground (thumbs up) and the pool (thumbs way up), enjoy the view from the bridge, drop our mugs off at the room, and head back to the south depot to catch our bus to MK. If I had it to do over again, I would have requested AB 14, the Magnolia Terrace is a longer walk than I had expected. On the bus at 8:15, it was full so did not stop at the other depots, and we were at the Kingdom at 8:35. Highlights of the morning were : getting Aladdin's autograph, breakfast with the Princesses ( the Fairy Godmother gave my daughter her purple glitter gel pen!!!), meeting Dopey (my daughter's favorite), the interactive pins lighting up during Peter Pan (all white as you fly over London and then multi-colored when Pan defeats Hook), being a little disappointed that we did not get very wet on Aladdin's Carpet ( only one spitting camel, and he was very inconsistent!), but making up for it by RIDING IN THE FRONT on Splash Mountain!!! We were on the bus to MGM by 12:15. Very quick ride over to and entrance into MGMl. Met Fox and Gepetto at the entrance, then headed over to WWTBAM. Neither contestant got very far, so my daughter was able to answer most of the questions, she had a ball! Stopped and had our picture taken with Mickey in his Sorcerer's robe in front of the 100 years logo, very cool! Off to muppets (no wait) then Star tours (5 minute wait) then Sounds Dangerous (no waiting and being able to SIT DOWN, yay!). Had lunch at Backlot express (not good, but we ate late, so hamburger was old), and we sat there to watch the parade. The parade is cute but short, only 10 minutes long. We then took in the Great Movie ride and the Backlot Express. This was neat because the Osborne lights were being set up and were on. I would love to come back some time to see them (another trip??? he he he). Stopped at the One Man's dream exhibit. We especially liked the scale models of the parks and rides, Peter Pan was so neat!!! Did not stay for the movie because we had FPs for the Little mermaid, which we didn't end up needing..no line. I got a little choked up sitting there holding her hand, thinking how fast it is all going by, I am so glad i did this. We walked over to Fantasmic, arrived around 5:45 and got great seats. This is not a bad wait, (since you are SITTING
, and the show is excellent. At the end we walked rapidly back to the bus and got on and out right away. We were in the pool back at Riverside at 8:00, had a quick dip and supper at the food court ( the taco salad is pretty good and not too expensive), and were in our PJs dozing off by 9:30. Another perfect day!
