We haven't been since Dec., and I have been pining away for it! Gotta love my poor husband--little did he know when he married me 19 years ago I would develop this strange passion for all things Disney. Luckily he knows how to keep me happy (and the kids too!) and I made reservations last night for June 15th. This is the beginning of the time when Disneyland is open till midnight, and it may be crowded.

We are staying at the Disneyland Hotel for 3 nights--but almost didn't get it! :surfweb: <------this was me last night! I checked earlier in the week and it was all clear, but when my husband gave the green light last night and I went on Disney.com to make our reservations, they said there were none left for the DLH! I called the hotel thinking it had to be some kind of computer fluke--but she said the same thing. We were debating the whole Paradise Pier---Grand California choice for an hour or so (the PP looks nice and rooms look big, but that darn walk would do us in!----and we stayed at GC once and while it was nice, we love the DLH much more and appreciate the extra space because we have 3 kids) and then I went back to the computer. We had just decided to go for the GC, when I tried the DLH one more time, and it let me make the reservations!:goodvibes

We are springing for the upper resort/pool view, which is always nice. We usually stay in the Wishes/Bonita tower overlooking the waterfalls---but the last time we went we stayed at Dreams/Sierra tower overlooking DTD. I liked the Dreams tower view, but it was noisier than our falls view in Wishes tower. The room in the Dreams tower was also much smaller than the Wishes tower. Anyone else notice this?

It is good to be back!:wizard:

Oh, and one other cute thing I forgot to mention!

Since we got the 3 nights and 3 day parkhopper, Disney gave us a free character phone call. You can choose when the call happens, and I picked last night just as the kids were going to bed. I had them answer and put one phone on speaker phone so we could all hear.

It was Mickey and Minnie calling to say that they heard our family was going to visit them at the Disneyland Hotel and they couldn't wait! The kids were so excited and loved the call.

Hugs,
Lisa

You walk through DTD to either go to the monorail, or can walk to the front gates. It is a very easy walk with no streets to cross (it is an all walking area) and takes about 5 minutes.

Congratulations, Lisa!
You are staying in my favorite section/view & room type at DLH. I think those rooms are the largest. And the bathroom has two sinks and the toilet is in its own enclosed little room. The older tower has only one sink and the whole bathroom set up is smaller. December is a wonderful time to visit - hope the countdown goes quickly! :)

Congrats! We just stayed at DLH on our first visit to DL and loved it. Great view and of course, awesome location! Have a great time!

Enjoy!! I have yet to stay at the DLH.....I want to try soon though. For what it's worth, we didn't find the walk to the PP hotel that bad, if you cut through the GCH it's much closer than following the signs. :)

Ack--I made a mistake on my original post--we are going June 15th--not December!:upsidedow
Sorry about that! I have December on the brain. We will probably go then, too!

lulubelle--what tower do you like to stay in? Dreams or Wishes? I think the rooms are bigger the Wishes tower overlooking the falls.

Congratulations, Lisa!

Ok, so which section and room type has the 2 sinks and the separate toilet room? I need to make sure to book this type next time!!!

I'd love the insight!!! Thanks!
