Just made a reservation...need some help

Good evening all. I just made a reservation at one of the restaurants in Mexico at Epcot. Online they asked me to enter a credit card to "secure" the reservation. Is that the same card that will be charged when we eat? Do we just show our magic bands?

No, you'll present payment at the end of your meal. The credit card now is to have on file to pay the penalty of $10 per person in the event you don't show up for the reservation or cancel too late.

You can use the magic band to charge the meal to your room.

You can pay with your magic band. I think you need to have a credit card on file and you need to use a PIN number. If you are on the dining plan the server will scan your band

If you scan your Magic Band it will go to your room account. That will ultimately be charged to the credit card y ou put on file when you checked in

Yes
When you check in you will be asked if you want to put a credit card on file on your room account for charging purposes. You can choose to or not. If you don't your Magic Band can not be used for charging. If you do, everything you use your Magic Band to charge back to your room (food, Tips, merchandise, souvenirs etc), is on the account with that card as a guarantee.
But, you can go back to the desk anytime before the charge is run to your card, and pay the balance off. The charging limits vary by resort type. They have recently been upped. It used to be $500 Value, $1000 Mod, and $1500 Deluxe, I know it is now $2000 Deluxe, but I am not sure of the others. If your balance reaches this level, the card is charged then. Otherwise it is charged about 2AM the morning you are to check out. So if you want to pay some other way than the card on file do it the night before checkout. You can pay the balance at any time with cash, a different credit card, Disney Reward point card, Disney Gift Cards.
