Just like we dreamed it Trip Report Part 1
We (my boyfriend and me) arrived at CDG at 8pm and our TGV was at 10pm. We always take the TGV because it is the fastest way to get to the resort from the airport. And in the evening you even get a better price than during the day. We paid 14€ for each adult. And now that they have the new “metro” at the airport you are within minutes from one terminal to the other.
We arrived at the Holiday Inn (at DLRP) at 11pm. We had booked the room 3 month in advance that’s why we only paid 50€ for this night and as I’m a member of their bonus system we even got an upgrade to an executive room. And as this room was in one of the corners of the hotel it was one of the biggest hotel rooms I ever had. We had a huge bed, a huge sofa and chairs and a table. And many free unused space in the room. If we would have children they could have used the room to play tag.
Wednesday 6. June 2007
After a free breakfast at the hotel we left the Holiday Inn and we were on our way to the hotel New York for the next 4 nights and 5 days. (We booked a 4=3 offer)
One week prior to our arrival I wrote a fax to the hotel and told them that we had such a great room with lake view during our stay in January 2006 and that we would be very happy if we could get a similar room in one of the upper floors. And guess what, we got exactly the same room on the 7th floor with this amazing view.

I know many DISers only book cheap hotels because they only use their room to sleep and to shower. But we are different; we return to our hotel at least once during the day and we also spent some time intentionally in our room just to soak up the atmosphere or to admire the great view.
For us the hotel is as much important as the rides or the parade.
If I think back of this trip the first thing that comes to my mind is our hotel room and the great view. And how I sat in the evening at my hotel bed and admired the view to the NPBC, Sequoia Lodge and the village, and how happy I was.

After check in we headed to the park. And at 10am we were at the rope to Frontierland because as usual BTM should be our fist ride. But like during our last trip in November 2006, BTM had problems almost every morning. And so we grabbed a FP and did some other rides.
After Saloon Mickey we went to the Studios because I was curios to find out if there would be a soft opening for Crush.
Mickey Sign Toon Studios

But this day they only let some selected guests in. More than 90% of all the quests who asked if they could ride Crush were refused.
And this happened also on Thursday and Friday. We were very often in the Studios but we never saw an official soft-opening. One day only selected quests were allowed, the other day only AP holders, and on Friday again only selected quests. On Thursday when we just finished the Studios Tour (and if you exit the tour you now have to go through the Toon Studios area) we saw that about 200 visitors were in the queue and I said to my boyfriend: “Hurry - now is a Soft-Opening!”
But we were wrong. This was a preview for the CM’s. And all other guests who joined this queue were once more refused.
This made us two (and many other) very angry. My boyfriend said he felt like a beggar who wants to get something that does not belong to him.
I can understand that they refuse some quests but why is the preview for the CM’s during the normal operating hours. Why can’t this be done after the park has been closed?
A CM at Saloon Mickey told us that there were only two time slots for the CM’s to try the ride and both were during the day.
This made us and many other families very angry.
The highlight of our first day was the new parade. I have skipped all videos and pictures here on the board because this new parade should really be new to me.
And it was just great although I missed “Dancing a catchy rhythm”
But the new song is also just great (I bought the CD immediately – And I have heard the song many times since our visit)
Peter Pan

The parade gets better with every float and the last two are by far the best ones. We watched the parade every day. And every day I discovered new details.
Soon to follow: The end of our 1st day and 4 more Disney-Days.
More pictures of the parade and with the view from our room can be found in my album:
