Just Let the Man Propose Already! An Engagement Trip Report-Final Thoughts, 2/23!

Hi! I just read your whole TR! I'm looking forward to the rest. Congratulations on your engagement! :lovestruc

My son is in special ed, so special ed teachers have a special place in my heart

Awww thank you for your kind words! I'm so glad you found me and that you're enjoying it :goodvibes

Looks like you guys had fun at Tom Sawyer Island. I haven't been there since my first trip in 6th grade! I think I might have to try it out again next time we go!

It's so fun! I love classic literature so I love all the references to the book too. Mark Twain lived in CT for much of his life and did a lot of his writing here so he has a special place in my heart :)

This is so good!

Is that the bridge with the barrels on it?

It is actually the bigger bridge...the bouncy one that takes you over to the fort. We had fun jumping at the same time and making it shake all over...but we paused to enjoy the view and take that pic as well :)

Yes! That is where she got it! We were doing it all week, I'm so glad someone picked up on that :lmao:

My sister and I did that all week when we went alone together. Did you see it on your own or did a CM mention it? I used to be cute and single and a CP CM told me about it back when PI was open! Lol I never see anyone else laughing over that

I can't believe it's your last day either! :(

You did my two favorites in Fantasyland - Pooh and Philharmagic. :goodvibes

I'm excited to check out Tom Sawyer's Island this year. My husband took our two younger ones there on our first trip, but Sully and I were riding the "big" rides.

 We actually noticed it on our own. My brother and DF were the ones making fun of it first...they have analyzed that entire preshow video for ways to make fun of it lol. They did the pose for the RnRc photo earlier in the week and DS stole it. :rotfl:

Philharmagic is definitely my favorite in Fantasyland. Have fun at Tom's Sawyer's Island! I think it is an under appreciated attraction, it's a great way to escape the crowds and enjoy the scenery.

Oh no! I can't believe it's your last day already!! Great update and I loved seeing last years pictures, too! I love your hair last year but really like the bob on you and you lightened it, too? Very cute!!!! You guys are such a cute couple!!!!:goodvibes

I know, I'm so bummed that I've been sorta putting off writing the rest, but it should be up very soon. Thanks for all the compliments, you are the sweetest!! :cutie: I did lighten my hair too, thanks for noticing! Shorter hair is just so much more manageable, although I will start growing it out a bit for the wedding starting this summer. You and your DH are quite the cute couple too :flower3:

So when we left off I was being a baby and crying my way toward the monorail. Last year, DF kinda laughed at me when I cried. Not in a mean way, but in a "I don't get why you'd cry" way. Now, he gets why I cry every time I leave because he has been bitten by the Disney bug too! So he was very sweet and comforting and started a list of all the great things we would do when we came back in June  I think I made a good decision in marrying him ;)

We wanted to resort hop a bit, and Poly was the first stop. I was dying to show this place to DF because it is my fav resort and I want to honeymoon here, so I was very eager to see his reaction. And he fell in love! We broke off from my family and took a little stroll through the lobby. The waterfall was dried up (very odd looking) but it was still gorgeous. Then we went out by the pool and the beach.

I had told DF before the trip that this is where I envisioned our honeymoon but I didn't think we could swing it financially. But while we were on our walk, before I could even say anything about the honeymoon, he turned to me and said "We will make this work. We are honeymooning here!" Ahhhh he loved it too! :woohoo: I think DD sensed we were having a moment, because he rushed over to take a picture of us:

So I was officially happy and could enjoy the rest of the night! We spent way longer at Poly then we intended. DB is a human garbage disposal and needs to eat more frequently than a baby needs bottles, so we stopped at Captain Cooks so he could snack. Even though we had dinner ADRs in one hour. And had eaten lunch 3 hours ago. Jeesh! By the time that was done, our ADR was close to ready so we took the monorail back to MK. Love resort hopping, hate how much of a project it is to get places!! lol

Then we hopped the boat to WL. I looove riding the Disney boats, and this ride did not disappoint. The moon was full and the sun was setting. They were playing Can You Feel the Love Tonight on the boat. So warm and peaceful. It was like a scene out of a movie!:cloud9:

We got off at WL, another place I am dying to stay someday. Walked around a bit and saw the scenery.
n9008981_39117605_9337.jpg

Isn't this place gorgeous? I wish I had more pics but the lighting wasn't working well with my camera this night for some reason. WL and AKL are at the top of my list of places I want to stay in the near future.

We checked into WCC about half an hour before our ADR but were sat right away. The food here was amazing, and it was so fun! Our server was a sweetheart. I got the meatloaf which was the BEST I've had in my life. What can I say, I'm a simple girl! DF got the skillet so I picked off that too. Mmmm I want some now! Their cornbread was amazing too. I left stuffed and happy :goodvibes

We took a bus back to MK and got the car. DB was dying to check out DTD and we all needed to souvenir shop for friends at home so we headed over there. DF found a cute Donald shirt that says "I need anger management" or something :rotfl: which is ironic since he's the most laid back person I know (I take that back...laid back unless the Red Sox and/or UConn Huskies are losing!!) I got a cute Valentines Day antennae topper for my car.

After that I dragged DF into Goofy's Candy Company so I could make a treat. It was my first time and I wasn't missing this! I got a pb fudge cookie dipped in chocolate and reese's pb cups (I love pb can you tell? Thank god that contamination problem is now taken care of and I can eat it worry free again!)
Isn't my cookie lovely?

n9008981_39117606_9684.jpg

Can you spot it?
n9008981_39117607_42.jpg

DB decided he needed to eat again (WHAT?!) and dessert was the next stop. We went into Ghiradelli's Soda Fountain. I hadn't been here in years, and stuffed as we were I convinced DF to split a cookie bottom sundae with me. Ohhh lord, this was the best sundae of my life!! Everyone else got milkshakes and loved those as well. DB works at the Red Sox team store at Fenway Park in Boston and he bumped into his boss and a bunch of coworkers there while waiting for our ice cream! What a Small World (no pun intended lol!) They were in town for the marathon so we chatted a bit before heading outside to eat.

Now officially in a food coma, we strolled toward PI. Stopped to check out Trex. Cool theming, but way overpriced. We have Rainforest Cafe in our local mall so we are a little spoiled. Sorry these are blurry!

It was wayyy too loud in there! Very nice to visit, but not a good place to eat IMHO!

After visiting the ghost town formerly known as Pleasure Island (We literally walked all the way down, looked at the now closed and sad looking clubs and reminisced a bit, and immediately walked back-RIP Adventurer's Club :sad2: ) our feet were killing us and we were so ready to call it a night after this packed day! We drove back to the condo and packed up, because the next morning it was time to head back to the chilly northeast. Ugh I hate packing. This year I was terrible, I literally balled everything up and shoved it in my suitcase. Except for my souvenirs which were laid neatly on top!

It is crazy how this trip flew by! I was so bummed it was over, but I fell asleep in seconds, dreaming of June and my disneymoon :cool1: Plus, our flight out wasn't until 655 the next evening so we had some time to enjoy the resort a little more the next day before we left.

Up next: Soakin' up the sun before our flight home...Stay tuned, there's a bit more to come!! :)

Love that pic of you and DF by the Poly pool!!!

Isn't the monorail so much fun?! And the boats toward evening/night have the most beautiful views!

I do miss staying at WL, so we had to go over and say hi this past trip. :cutie:

Ugh, I hate going to bed that last night of the trip. :guilty:

Yes, I love Disney transportation! Even the busses...it's all just part of the magic! :wizard:

You are so lucky that you stayed at WL so much! But OKW is nice too...there are so many good resorts it is hard to choose!

The last night is never fun, I have to find ways to distract myself usually but this night I was just so tired I passed out!

i love your tr! :goodvibes

congrads on getting engaged!

Aw thanks! Thanks for reading :)

Another fantastic update!! Loved the pic of you two by the pool and woohoo!! Honeymoon plans already being made, that's awesome that DF loved Poly as much as you did!! :lovestruc

Too funny about DB wanted to eat constantly, I can see that in my future with my 3 boys....that's all they do now, can't imagine them in the future!!:rotfl:

Can't believe it's ending....looking forward to the rest, though!!:goodvibes

Are you going to do a PTR for June??:confused3

Thanks so much for all of your kind words!! I love that pic too, it's my favorite from our trip...if DF was dressed nicer I might use it as an engagement photo :rotfl:

I'm sure your boys will be big eaters, your DH is a big guy so I bet your little guys grow up to be pretty big too! My DB is 6'3 and DF is 6'4 and neither is skinny, to put it lightly! Between the two of them my parents have a very high grocery bill every week!! :lmao:

I can't believe it is ending either, but as soon as I am done I am getting right to work on my PTR for June!! :thumbsup2

Lauren, as excited I am to be staying at BCV (and as much as I love that my dad was able to trade in for it....) Part of me is SUPER sad that I'm not staying at Poly.... I know it's dumb, but I have always wanted to stay there. And now that we're DVC, I probably never will stay at Poly (it's not on the trader... maybe someday!)

Oh well I'm just lucky enought o own at contemporary, I suppose.

How are you doing with all the wedding stuff? I am already ready to be married, done and mentally checked out with the planning!!!!

Yay!!!:cool1:

I like the Poly too and would love to stay there someday!

Your peanut butter cookie sounds so yummy! Goofy's Candy Co. might be my favorite place in all of WDW! :lmao: I love those make your own treats!

Excited to hear about the end of your trip, but sad it's almost over!
