Hi all, I've just joined the site, my husband found it while he was browsing the net, am I so glad he did!! There's so many useful things here!
We're planning on going back to WDW October 2010!!:cheer2::

We were last there September 2007, stayed on Interantional Drive, but though we sould stay in Lake Buena Vista so we could be nearer WDW. Looking for any recommendations for this area??

Welcome!!!!!

you've found a great place - nice people with lots and lots of useful planning tips (i've learned a TON on this board)..

as for the lake buena vista area, i believe that Wayne (one of the moderators) has stayed in that area quite a lot, so i'm sure he'll have some tips for you....and no doubt others will as well...

in any case, welcome to the boards!!!!!

Hi and welcome to the Dis!! :goodvibes
as said Wayne has stayed in this area and will be able to help as well as anyone else that has stayed there!
we usually stay in a villa so can't help with that one :)

Hi and welcome :goodvibes

Hi and welcome,

You'll find these boards invaluable! :goodvibes

Everyone here has been so great, we're also going in October 2010, I got some great advice from some great DISers,

Have fun planning :cool1:

Welcome to DISboards!!!!

As said we have stayed in LBV area quite a few times. Having stayed onsite/offsite, Idrive North & South, 192 East and West we have found we prefer LBV to anywhere else. There are hotels for all budgets from about £20/night.

What type of hotel do you like? price? how many people?
where did you stay in Idrive?

Welcome to the DIS! Everyone is really friendly and helpful on here, I'm sure you'll find all the information you need! :goodvibes:thumbsup2

Welcome.

Enjoy your trip planning, can't help with LBV sorry, we uaully stay in a villa.

My husband has been about 10 times, stayed in Idrive and Kissimmee. We stayed in the Enclave Suites, Idrive last twice. Was a good place to stay, but it was a lot of travelling for our little girl, we don't want to drive, so will be using public transport. Since we're taking two girsl this time, 5 and 2 when we go, we thought staying in LBV would be much better. Looking for self-catering with transport to WDW. We looked at a few, Fairfield Inn, Sheraton Vistana Resort, Sunspree and LBV Resort and Spa (not exactly sure where this is, different travel agents show it at different places). There will be four adults and two children going. My sister-in-law and her hubby just love WDW, he was a first-timer when we went last, now he won't go anywhere else!

Hope you can help!

Stayed at Fairfield 4 times, great value resort and you can also use the pools at Courtyard and Springhill suites, its within the Marriott village but without car its a fair walk to Crossroads area for places to eat.
Courtyard by Marriott, Palm Parkway is a nice hotel, stayed there twice.
Some I am not sure of where they are, I aways have a car so don't know how difficult it is to get to them without.
Have you considered onsite? and getting free Disney Dining. All of you could stay in a luxurious 2 bed villa sleeps upto 8 at OKW or SSR for £3,094 for 2 weeks, a bit pricey but includes all your food. I would cost your accomodation offsite and compare, would make getting to all Disney parks easier and you get free transport to and from MCO.
Somewhere like here is very popular http://www.cypresspointe2.com/resort.html You can get a 2 bed apartment next Oct for £40/night or 3 bed for £48/night.

So many places to stay:goodvibes

the sheraton vistana is an outstanding resort, with really nicely done suites (they call them villas, but to me they're suites)..

dreams unlimited (the sponsor of these boards) usually has really low rates for the sheraton vistana, so you might want to check with them - though i don't know if you're buying a package deal from your agent...

however, i don't know if the sheraton vistana offers transportation to the parks or not....perhaps you could check this on the resorts board....or even put in a question to one of the Dreams Unlimited agents (and ask them for a quote)..

we usually stay on property for convenience....
by the way, i believe the price Wayne is quoting for OKW for free dining, also includes the tickets - so take that into account when you're comparing prices...
