Just how many Halloween activities can we expect?

We booked last night (on hold for 45 minutes yikes!) for a week on the Fantasy for September 2, 2017 - so excited!! I thought that was a safe week not to run into a Halloween cruise but the CM told me beginning with the first cruises in September the Halloween stuff starts for 2016 so we can expect the same next year.

We do not want to participate in any of the events and I wonder from those that have gone on previous cruises with this theme, exactly what can we expect? Is it like the pirate stuff that we can just avoid or ignore? I would hate to move my date as other time frames the price jumps $1,000! Any insights are appreciated.

Hi there, I know on the Dream most of the events are in the lobby atrium. You can certainly walk around it. It was nothing super crazy. They just have the pumpkin tree that talks during the little show they do there and typically one night they'll do a small trick or treating around the lobby.

So short answer, yes very similar to pirate night. The decorations are very cute though.

The decorations will be up the entire cruise. One day will be "Halloween" with Halloween themed activities in the atrium, but they are easily avoidable by looking at the times in the Navigator. There may be some smaller activities on a couple other days, but again, they are missable.

I think you'll be fine. There are window decorations on the main couple decks that look like jack o lanterns. There is a trick or treating event and some story telling - all easy to ignore or avoid. A lot of the buffet food had signs that said halloween on the high seas, but there wasn't anything different about the food.

We did back to back cruises a couple years ago during October. We did check out the "Halloween Tree" story telling on the first cruise. Found it to be boring and it was easily ignored/avoided the remainder of that cruise and the next. There will be people in costume on the designated "Halloween" day before, during and after dinner/shows and there will be some decorations (very limited, not overwhelming like their Christmas decorations). So yes, you'll see reminders that it is a Halloween cruise but you should be able to avoid the activities associated with Halloween without it impacting your enjoyment of the cruise.

If you seek to avoid the Halloween activities you can. The only time you'll really be exposed will be at dinner on "Halloween" night. Our last cruise had perhaps 50% of the people in costume. Some were awesome and very entertaining.

We are only doing the 3 day on the Dream in early September but I was not happy to learn it was a Halloween cruise either. Who wants to celebrate Halloween the beginning of September? Anyway, my friend went last year and she said it was really only 1 day so I guess it will be fine.

I thought it was strange to have those type of festivities the first week of September as well. Thought about switching to January 2017 but it's a SWDAS sailing and the price is over $4,000 for two adults in a 5A cabin. Just priced the last western August sailing for 2017 and since it's the same price as the Star Wars sailing so we are switching to that. DH insists on a Disney cruise so we will be paying premium price during premium summer season. Never thought I would lose my love for Disney but I'm just about done with their pricing.

Besides the decorations I forgot that I was on a Halloween cruise. I don't even recall seeing kids dressed up besides the odd princess but that's normal for anything Disney.

We're doing the same cruise as well! I didn't think that the Halloween decor / events would happen in September! Curious. @_@

Which actually is good to know because kiddos never want to be 'denied' a good time dressing up.
