We'll be going in early September right after Labor Day and are wondering what to expect for daytime temperatures. Does it cool off much at night..enough to wear a sweatshirt?

We always visited in early September and the temperatures were in the 90s. We had sweatshirts in our bags for evening dinners because of the air conditioning. Don't remember needing them otherwise. It's a great time to visit with low crowds if you don't mind the temperatures and some rain! :)

We were never cold the time we went in early September and the crowds were great..very low!!

We went early September last year and it was very, very hot and humid. We had these water bottles with built in water misters and they helped a lot. Each day it rained for about 30 minutes around 5:00 or so and it does refresh you and cool the air down for a little while. To answer your question - In my opinion, it's not even close to cool enough for a sweater.

That being said, we still loved being there at that time and we're going back the same time as you.

This will be our 4th September trip this year , and it is VERY hot and humid each day. Some of our trips we have only had the occasional rain shower, 2 years ago it rained 8 out of 10 days. No worries, we are at Disney:cool1:!! My boys loved the rain, hubby enjoyed that it cooled him off, me well:rolleyes1.....I was at Disney! I am a very cold natured person, the only times I have felt that I needed a light weight jacket or sweater is in restaurants and on the busses. Hopes this helps, the smaller crowds definitely trump the inconvienence of loads of sweating and a little rain :)! We love our September trips!

We have gone 7 times in September. Its HOT and HUMID. There's no sugar coating it. But on the other hand we have gone 7 times and we still keep going, so the low crowds and free dining are worth it.

Drenched in sweat hot....figure on 90s, with close to 100% humidity and SUNNY.

Bring 2 outfits per day- and 2 pairs of underwear. I'd switch clothes 1/2 way through the day b/c I sweat through them. I am a 'northerner' from Buffalo, NY so YMMV.

Mid September was fantastic last time we went. Beautiful weather. Warm but not unbearable.

Oh yeah, forgot to add....no way will you need a sweater even at night

We went in 08 and I remember needing long sleeves in the evenings, but I do chill easily and am from the south.

I am not from the south and we went the past 2 sept. And the only time i needed a sweatshirt was on the Disney buses as they really cranked the a/c. Even at night it was sticky muggy. Hot.

I do highly recommend bringing a lightweight cardigan, bolero something like that for the indoors. Even for kids. My daughter would wear a tank top but indoors, even rides, especially the buses. Were freezing. I got sick, seriuosly from going from tropic heat to to what felt like 60,s indoors. Had the cold of a lifetime when I got home, sure the millions of virus at theparks played a role, but so did subzero temps on those darn buses.

It is hot - really hot. I felt like standing in the steam of a giant flatiron sometimes.

But you get used to it after a few days. In the morning the humidity is crazy. Move slowly :goodvibes

You will encounter some interesting smells in queue-lines. :dance3:

like mousefan73 said, A/C on the buses etc. is like russian winter. Be prepared! :-)

As you can see from the above replies, the weather in September typically varies from very hot/humid in the beginning of the month to much more manageable levels towards the end of the month.

That's about as good as the information will get since its based on individual experiences and historical weather norms. It will likely be somewhere in that range when the OP goes, but nobody knows where.

It's still summer weather here in September, but the crazy summer crowds are gone so it's much more enjoyable.

Going in September for the first time this year....not feeling great about it after these weather posts. We are going the last week, so hopefully the heat will ease up a little.

September temperatures are very hot, very humid. Temperatures won't start getting nice until late October. Even then, it's a hit or miss. No sweater will be required. The only reason a bus might feel cold at night is because you have been out in the heat for such a long time, the cooler, conditioned air allows your body to start cooling down quickly. If you put a sweater on, you'll feel warmer, but without one, you'd get used to it very soon. It's not really that cold on the buses. If you were to get on one at night directly from a hotel without standing outside for any length of time, it would seem perfectly fine. It's like if you had been in a house all day on a hot summer day with the thermostat set to 78. It might feel a little warm and stuffy, but if you were outside playing or doing yardwork, that same 78 would feel like a blast of arctic air the moment you came in the door.

No need for a sweatshirt. In fact, last year we went in mid-November and brought pants/sweatshirts and didn't break them out once.

We are from upstate NY and found the heat of September took a lot out of us. The only way we could combat it was to hit the park at rope drop, break mid-day when it's the hottest/most crowded and relax in the cool room or go to the pool, and then go back out at night. The heat made us exhausted.

Another tip we learned the hard way - bring extra clothes. We'd shower when we came back mid-day (almost necessary, even if you showerd in the morning) and did NOT want to put our sweaty clothes back on. We ended up wearing two outfits per day.

The south is hot in September. There is no getting around it. The best way to beat the heat is arrive when the park opens and head back to your hotel to rest or swim for a few hours in the middle of the day. It is still hot in the afternoon, but bearable when the sun goes down. I agree with the two sets of clothes every day.

Years ago we used to go in Sept....now no way...the humidity leaves you dripping....
But more so its the LOVE BUGS!

Absolutely right about bringing extra clothes. We always take a break in mid afternoon to go back to our resort for a swim or shower. We are wimps as well compared to Florida summers. Hate the humidity we get here:)
