Just how busy is MVMCP?

A sold out MVMCP - approximately 30,000 guests - does seem crowded in some areas. Main Street and the Hub will be crowded especially for the first parade.

Last year, the Castle lighting show was held twice on nights where a MVMCP was scheduled. The first show was for all guests before the Party began. The second show was for Party guests only. It was reported to be very hectic at times for guests waiting for the first show.

Also remember Veterans' Day is November 11th so the 10th may very well be a sold out party.

Since a sold out MVMCP is 30,000 people, how does that translate into a crowd level? I guess I don't really have a context to compare that to. Like I normally go in October during the lower crowd times. How many guests on average are in the park at that time during the day?

I've been to the parks during every month of the year and October does appear to have lower crowds dispersed throughout the park.

For a Party, the majority of the crowd will be found on Main Street and the Hub specifically waiting for the Castle Lighting > Celebrate the Season Castle stage show > Parade > Castle Projection Show > Fireworks.

Ride lines will be comparable to an October low crowd day. We waited maybe 10 minutes to ride the Jungle (Jingle) Cruise and basically walked onto all the other rides in 2013. We were the only people in line for Barnstormer during the fireworks.

We did attend 3 sold out parties and for one of them we walked back to the shop near Pete's Silly Sideshow after the 2nd parade and were the only people in there.

It really depends on the night.. A sold out party may be crowded and a party that is not sold out is quite the opposite. We experienced this last year on a Sunday party on Nov 16th. I had the best time and it was due to no crowds at all. We did the first parade and then walked on all of our favorite rides over and over until the park closed. Lines for characters were very short. In 2013, we did the 1st party and it was crowded on Main Street and some of the rides and characters were longer than we anticipated. Last year the Sunday party was the best park time we had all trip, as far as crowds go. The December parties closer to the last party date always sell out, especially the last party and the first party usually does but this year the first party in Nov is on a Sunday and not a Friday... so that could make a difference.

Thanks, @hiroMYhero . We did a sold out MNSSHP last year, and didn't think the crowds were too bad, but I've read other people say that it was packed and just too busy. I thought a lot of the character lines were crazy busy, and the hub was crowded, but the rides were good. Was thinking MVMCP would be similar. So, thanks for the input.

We attended a MVMCP two years ago that was sold out and we never encountered overwhelmingly large crowds. The only time we had large amounts of people around us was for the parade and fireworks, other then that it was pretty desolate and lines were not long at all.

They will do exactly that, you wont be able to enter any land and you will be escorted to the exit.
Sorry we will have to agree to disagree on this.DW and I got QS meals at Casey's 6:50 PM and did not finish until 7:30 PM . Then did some shopping on Main Street and bought some fudge. We exited park at 8:30 PM and know CM said a thing but good night when we went to exit.Do you honestly believe CM.s by the hundreds to chase out day guests.I've seen day guests as late as 9:30 PM when a couple tried to ride Buzz Lightyear were turned away because no party ticket. CM didn't call security or chase them or escort them any where.I've been to 28 party's most times twice a year. Not saying a non ticket holder was asked to leave but escorted by CM or security never.

I have heard that they even station CMs at the bathrooms and will escort day guests right to the gate after 7pm. Day guests have no right to be there doing anything. I am disappointed that they would allow you to do that (buy your meal at 6:50 and eat it of course) window shop they may not have caught you in the net yet but when you went to by the fudge at the very least they should have had you exit immediately after.
Much of MVMCP is not the rides but the atmosphere, parade and fireworks which is why they chase out day guests because they have chosen not to pay to experience them.

Please I didn't want to start anything , it's just a issue that is not that important to me.Say many guest got in line for attraction at 6:55 and are in line to ride.As long they are in que area for attraction and allowed in , is Disney going to say get out of que it's 7 and only party guests can ride.Entire park is open to day guests until 7.CM's on stage cannot walk from from their work area to another in costume. That's why they have utilidors under MK so so CM's can come into work area in proper costume.Could be 20,000 or more day guests at 7 .All i'm saying his you will not be escorted out unless a CM says sorry is only open to party guests now,so please exit park. Then guest doesn't respond appropriately then action might be necessary.I just want don't folks to think they have to take a walk of shame with Disney escorts because they might still be in park at 7:15. What if you are in que for SM 5 minutes before closing and then your within 10 minutes of boarding,do you want CM to tell you sorry 5 minutes past closing time , please leave immediately. Heaven forbid some ate up 30 minutes of your party time, you only get in at 4:00 on party ticket and eat 3 hours of day guests time. So no winners here let's just let it go, we have different opinions to much in life way more important to be discussing than this.I'm through with it.Have a good time at party and hope you have a magical and safe trip and visit to WDW.

:yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay:We attended MVMCP in 2013 on 12/19 and I remember it was crazy the first hour as people were leaving and others were staying for the party and CMs were trying to enforce only party people to stay. It was nuts :scared: but after the first show and parade it was awesome! We only waiting 5-10 minutes for rides and the second show and parade was much less crowded! Try to watch the parade in frontier land if possible ! We are planning on going this year

Agree! It is literally impossible for them to escort people out! They are outrageously outnumbered! I do agree that they should pay like everyone else but it's just not realistic

Thanks for the responses, everyone. I didn't think about the 10th of Nov. being busy, but it makes sense with the next day being Veteran's Day. So, because of that, I think I'm going to look at the Thursday party.
Otherwise, I'm going to embrace the experience and enjoy being at Disney at this time. It's a trip that we've been waiting for. As I said, I've only been during summer, so I'm looking forward to lower temps and (hopefully) lower crowds overall!

This was the reason why I chose not to do the party on Nov 10th, because of Veterans Day and schools being closed the next day. I am going to the Thursday party, 11/12. Can't wait!

Yes! Thanks for that tip! Never would have thought of it otherwise!

I'm sorry, but they do escort people out. I don't know if they do it for everyone who's there after the party starts, but they definitely do it for people who have ADRs that end after the party starts, but who don't have tickets for the party.

Oh yea they definitely do! But it's super hard for them to get everyone! I saw them trying, I just meant it is totally possible for a few to sneak and stay in
