Just Hold On, We're Going Home...All 11 of Us Are Going to Mickeystoontown's Home! Update 10/27

If we are on the first row of Soarin' I feel weird and my fear kicks in. If I'm further down, then it's not so bad.

Awww, I hate it when our favorites are closed during our trips. But, at least you'll get to see Pirates this time.

You should try looking to the side during the portions that make you feel weird. That's what I do and it sure does help.

Wellllllllll, if it weren't true, then yes it would be weird. But, I did write that report! I lost my front crown while in The Electric Umbrella. We still talk about that to this day.

I love Soarin and even my fear of heights can't keep me from experiencing it.

Hey lady! Yep, it is still open and flourishing. Are y'all coming back this way again?

Wedding flowers!?! I didn't know that you did that.
yes Maam..I own a wedding flower business by day and a Ghost Tour Company by night..lol www.oopsadaisyflowers.com and www.houstonghosttour.com kinda proud of the ghost tour company as we won Best City tour award 2015 here in Houston :)

that's a cool review of the "Canadian Lumberjack" show funny thing is apparently they aren't from Canada but somewhere in the US, Although none of the members from off kilter were either although their music style was like that of of bands like great big sea from the east coast or spirit of the west from the west coast.

I was a month behind and actually kind of happy you didn't have too many posts to catch up on. I won't comment on it all, but really am enjoying everything. The Lumberjack show did look much better than I thought it would be...of course I will never have a chance to see it.

As for pictures. If you load everything to Flickr and go in and hit edit in organizer for that album you can have them automatically organize themselves from oldest to newest in there. I do it all the time and its so easy since I don't always edit them all in order. Some phone pictures sometimes are off or if I didn't set my cameras to the right time zone they are off but it makes it easier for me to move them to the right order with that start.

Hi! I'm still here. I just started a new job recently and can't get on the Dis that much anymore so I am behind on everything. Still reading along whenever I can and looking forward to more.

Add me to the list of folks who will never get to see the short lived lumberjack show. We were sad to hear that Off Kilter was gien teh axe, too. We really enjoyed them. All the budget cuts Disney is doing right now seem to be affecting the "talent" a lot. Just sad.

Sorry y'all! I'm coming back, I really am. We've had some exciting events happening over at our house. Lacey & Jesse found a house, put in an offer, did all of the flim flam'ing around on price, had the inspecition done, got the appraisal, came back $5,000 lower and then they re-negotiated. But, Monday, they found out that they got it! It is about a half mile from us. They have asked us to be with them during all of these steps because they are first time homebuyers and don't know how the whole thing works. So....I've had a real excuse for not posting before now. I'll try to get replies done this afternoon or this evening and then another update.

How exciting! And only a half a mile away! Good for them!
Sounds like a valid excuse, because mom duty always comes first.

How exciting!!!! So happy for them and you since they will be so close!! Congrats to them!!

Just completely read the entire report thus far! Yay for Spring Break! LOL Maybe I can keep up with it now! I think I actually made sighing noises as I read because Keith asked why I was sighing...oh maybe because I miss Disney and reading your great report reminds me that I don't know when I'll be back!

We actually crossed paths many times aside from Ohana...I looked to see if we were lurking in any pictures but no dice!

Give me a sody pop and some ice cream please! Cont'd

Otherwise, we'd be late for our lunch ADR. and, just whwere were we going for lunch? We were trying a new to us restaurant...Beach & Cream! The walk is an easy one and a beautiful one to boot. I'd love to stay at Disney's Beach Club or Yacht Club one day but given that we like longer trips, neither resorts are in the cards for us.

We had been to the gift store at the Beach Club the year before but hadn't been to Beaches & Cream and we didn't really know where we were going. So, we went inside the resort and I saw Teena, Dee's friend. She was busy talking to Guests and I wanted to at least say hello but I didn't want to interrupt. I told John that if she were still there when we came back through, I'd introduce myself. (We didn't see her when we were done.)

HOME!!!

So now I know why John was wearing that shirt!

Bummer that you didn't have a chance to chat with Teena- she is so sweet and kind. As you probably know, she is now living in Las Vegas with her daughter and granddaughter. She misses Florida and Disney!

I loved reading about Beaches & Cream. The only time I have been there is when they were testing a quick serve breakfast. I really need to get there sometime and I would have exactly the meal you did. I have heard that the grilled cheese and tomato soup are amazing.

::yes::

Axe-ually we didn't go straight to France!

A cheater cheater pumpkin eater. Eew, that's gross. I don't like pumpkin.

I love pumpkin! Maybe because I was born on Halloween. Maybe not. You would HATE what I had for breakfast the past two mornings. Pumpkin bagel with pumpkin cream cheese (both were on big-time special at the grocery store) with pumpkin spice coffee.

I love Dole Whips too. Have you ever tried making them at home? I have two different recipes. I made one, and it was good, but of course, not the same as having one in its natural habitat.

Thanks so much for your fantastic pictures and descriptions of the lumberjack show.

Can't wait to see it during our trip in October...

Oh!

:sad2:

Congratulations to Lacey and Jesse for their first house! And so close to you guys, that's great.

Congratulations to the new homeowners! And hooray for them being so close to you. I'm sure it'll be nice having them near, especially since that didn't used to be the case.

Glad you were able to try Beaches and Cream. The restaurant really is tiny. They stuck me at a middle table when I was 27 weeks pregnant, and I kept having to apologize to servers for sitting so far out in the walkways.

I almost thought nobody in your party was going to order ice cream. And that just doesn't fly.their desserts are definitely some of the best ice cream on property.

Finally caught up. I'm so happy about Lacey and Jesse! Our daughter used to live next door to us and we miss them so very much. How are you making out with the rain? The news reports I'm seeing look like things have gotten worse in the last day. Praying for you folks!

If you are friends with me on Facebook, you will know why I didn't hold to my promise to update my trip report. The area we live in was hit by storms and flooding this past week. We have had record breaking rains and major flooding. Some of my family's houses had flooding but not near as badly as some in our area. Many have lost everything that they own. In just 24 hours, we had almost 12 inches of rain. Over the past four days, we had over 24 inches of rain and there is simply no place for it to go because the ground is so saturated. The pictures below are those that were taken by people in our community and were posted on Facebook. These are just a few and don't show the pictures of washed out roads, bridges, the houseboat that drifted from miles away and got wedged on one of the three bridges crossing the river. I'm telling y'all, it's bad here.

This was once a nursing home but was recently turned into a preschool/daycare but hadn't opened yet.

Lacey and Jesse have been staying with us since Monday night because the roads that they have to take to get to their rental home are under water. Yesterday, they were finally able to get there but there is still water over some places on the roads. They live on a lake and it rose so much that you can only see the roof of the boat house and nothing else. The water came up and over the chain link fence on the property. They may attempt to go back tonight or tomorrow but we'll have to wait and see what the Department of Transportation and State Troopers say about driving in that area.

On Friday, I cooked a huge meal and took it to our local police department. They have non-stop to keep our community safe and they deserved a hot meal.

I have been in contact with one of my friends from church who is a firefighter and has been helping even when off the job. There is a family that is associated with the church and the school and they lost almost everything due to flooding. Some of my Magical DIStractions friends have donated some money and I'm trying to get more donated so that we can help out this family who now have nothing. They lost all of their furniture, appliances and material things. They have had clothes and toiletries donated but that's pretty much all that they have. This is their living room after the water receded.

And a lot of their "things" piled up outside. This was during the beginning stages of cleaning out the house. As you can see, from the piles and the vehicles everyone in that neighborhood were flooded and families/volunteers are helping to clean up the mess.
