Orlando Park News saying "it was announced" this morning -
Pirates of the Caribbean's Refurbishment Shortened
Saturday, April 18, 2015
"As many of our Readers will remember, the Walt Disney World Resort recently confirmed that one of the most iconic attractions of the park - Pirates of the Caribbean - will close for a major refurbishment that was originally going to last more than four months.Earlier this morning, it was announced that the attraction is now scheduled to be closed from June 8 through September 25 (previously the refurbishment was scheduled to start on May 11)."
It would be better to have it done before Sept 25 (we're there from 9/8 to 9/18) but based on how quickly Disney has gotten projects done in the past, I'm not holding my breath.
I hope this turns out to be true, too. We'll be there in mid-May, just a couple days after it's currently scheduled to go into refurb. My DS6 doesn't remember too much from our last trip (he was 3 at the time), but does remember POTC and was looking forward to it. I've already told him that it will be closed during our visit, but it will be pretty cool if it turns out to be running after all!
BBBOOOO HISSSSS (insert corny pantomime reactions ) you should get yourself over to Disneyland Paris, they are your kin, the Pirates ride in Paris does not have any of the film additions and there is a huge fan group who want to keep it that way
Boy I sure hope this is true!! We're coming in on 6/5 and going to the MK on 6/6, which is an EMH evening. My extended family was bummed it was going to be closed.
